Modern Warfare 2 players are calling for the devs to introduce a new character customization option surrounding military “patches.”

Customization is an important aspect to any online multiplayer game, as it allows players to personalize their experience and stand out from the rest of the playerbase.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has quite a few customization options on offer, as players get to select an Operator from a roster of characters and also add skins, charms, and even decals to their weapons. Even popular streamers NICKMERCS and TimTheTatman have received their own skins.

That said, one player believes the game could add another option, feeling as if the Operator customization is lacking. Reddit user zipitnick put a post up about a new customization idea in the Modern Warfare 2 subreddit.

The idea is military “patches” that players can place on their Modern Warfare 2 Operators, adding some personalization to the characters. The user also attached a video to the post, showing exactly what they mean.

The user goes on to say that these patches are “used by soldiers as a way of expressing their role on the battlefield, their belonging to a specific unit or a group of interest, but are also used as a completely free form of expression, depicting anything that is liked by the owner.”

Further, the OP also explains that these patches could be done similarly to the “stickers for the weapons,” being implemented onto “any skin on one or multiple places, such as helmet, chest or shoulders etc.”

Users in the comments seem to really like the idea, as one comment read “this would be awesome. Either put our emblem and calling card as patches on our character or better yet let us choose our patches.”

Another comment also stated that “Operator customization is long overdue,” clearly feeling that players should have more customization options for their Operators.

We’ll have to see if customization options like this will arrive in Modern Warfare 2, but there’s more chance for Call of Duty: 2023 to include something like this, which is reportedly going to be called Modern Warfare 3.
