Modern Warfare 2 players desperate for the return of classic matchmaking feature
Modern Warfare 2 players have been upset about a few missing features in the game and are now calling for the developers to bring back one classic matchmaking feature.
While Modern Warfare 2 had the most successful launch in the Call of Duty series, players have been frustrated about certain features being missing from the game, such as one of the beta maps and a kill counter.
With all this resentment towards the “lack of content” in Modern Warfare Season 1, players are hoping that Infinity Ward will bring back a major matchmaking feature from older Call of Duty titles.
Reddit user ‘KraKraten’ called for the return of map voting, which is a feature that has been in multiple entries in the Call of Duty series but has been noticeably absent from the 2022 title.
The original Modern Warfare 2 allowed players to vote so that they could skip a map while 2011’s Modern Warfare 3 granted them the option to choose between two different maps before the battle began.
KraKraten then added in the comments: “I’m going to repost it every day until [Infinity Ward] comment about map voting or the mods tell me to stop.” Many users agreed that this feature should be brought back in Modern Warfare 2.
Everyone has a different favorite location, but there are a few Modern Warfare 2 maps that players want to stay away from. One of the commenters claimed that if map voting were in the game then areas like Border Crossing “would get 0 votes every time.”
Another player expressed their frustration with having to “play the same map 3 times in a row” because of no map voting. One user described its absence as “moving backwards” and complained about “losing countless features while the game still crashes and runs like sh*t on all platforms.”
This isn’t the only time players have had this complaint with a Call of Duty title as map voting was missing in Vanguard as well. We’ll have to wait and see if Infinity Ward adds this feature to the game.
