Classic maps are expected to be arriving in Modern Warfare 2, and more evidence of this has been found in the game’s current Embassy map.

It’s been a weird time for Modern Warfare 2‘s maps going all the way back to the game’s beta. Crown Raceway, originally titled Grand Prix, was supposed to be in the beta but was mysteriously absent.

Furthermore, the game’s museum has also been removed from the final game, there are rumors that Breenbergh Hotel could be axed, and one of the game’s active maps has received a mixed reception from fans.

However, players have discovered evidence of two classic maps that could feature in Modern Warfare 2, possibly in the game’s upcoming Season 1 debut.

We’ve already seen one classic Modern Warfare 2 map appear in another of the game’s actual maps, and now two more have popped up in quick succession.

In the game’s Embassy map, one Reddit user discovered MW2 classic Highrise, which we know is set to feature in Warzone 2’s Al Mazrah battle royale map, and their spectator cam footage showed Highrise being virtually right next to Embassy.

It features the classic buildings at each end, the helicopter pad, and everything that OG fans loved about the sniper-fest extravaganza back in the day.

Soon after this revelation, another Reddit user was able to employ a similar tactic and managed to find a very rustic and bare-basics-looking template for Terminal in Embassy – but it’s unquestionably the vintage map.

Its escalators and the structure of the environment are all there, it’s just missing the actual plane itself that was the scene of so many intense games of Search & Destroy and more.

With various elements of Warzone 2 and Modern Warzone 2 crossing over with one another, it’s inevitable that areas from MW2 could feature in WZ2 and vice versa.
