Modern Warfare 2 players have hit out at Infinity Ward after the developers removed Shipment 24/7 from the game in a recent playlist update.

Modern Warfare 2 Season 1 marked the return of the fan-favorite Shipment map, first introduced in the original Modern Warfare from 2007. The chaotic map received a fresh coat of paint in MW2 2022, moving to the back of a large ship and removing the ability to climb on the crates.

The devs celebrated its comeback by adding a playlist the Shipment 24/7 playlist, which guaranteed that every match would take place in the iconic arena. As you’d expect, it became an instant hit and players were using it to grind camos well into Season 1 Reloaded and over the holidays.

However, Infinity Ward removed Shipment 24/7 in the January 11 playlist update, and players slammed the decision.

Shortly after the playlist was removed from the menu, ‘pubgisDEAD’ posted in the Modern Warfare 2 subreddit saying: “Shipment is gone, this is how they listen to the community.”

Many other players responded expressing their disappointment that Shipment 24/7 has been disabled, despite its immense popularity.

“You’ve gotta be f*cking joking… it had to have had the most players of any of the options,” said Terry Pies. “IW operate on the rule of ‘if they’re having too much fun, get rid of it,’” agreed Llama-Lamp.

Some players even explained that Shipment was the only map they would play on Modern Warfare 2, during breaks from Warzone 2. “Shipment 24/7 is where I spent my time after work when I didn’t have any of my friends on for Warzone and didn’t have a lot of time for DMZ antics. This is a bummer,” said another user.

Shipment 24/7 was the main mode that players used to grind camos. The high-kill matches were the ideal place to complete challenges that would take much longer on larger maps.

The devs replaced the playlist with Shoot House 24/7 after the Modern Warfare 2019 map was added to the game in Season 1. However, fans felt it would have been better to recreate a classic playlist from the last Modern Warfare that puts the two in rotation.

“Shoot the Ship. It’s easy and makes everyone happy. Idk why they didn’t do this from the start,” replied hathegkla.

It’s worth keeping in mind that Shipment is still a map in Modern Warfare 2, but players will have to enter quick play and hope it comes up. Camo grinders will be hoping to see Shipment 24/7, or Shoot the Ship, make a comeback in Modern Warfare 2 Season 2.
