While the Ghost Perk is meant to keep you hidden from UAVs, Call of Duty players are furious that enemies can still find you even if the Perk is active in Modern Warfare 2.

Call of Duty players hopping into Modern Warfare 2 are checking out all the multiplayer changes that Infinity Ward have made in the new title, including the new Perk system which has been extremely controversial.

One major complaint about the system is that it takes a while to unlock the Ghost Perk in the game. Now, players that have finally gotten the Ultimate Perk are claiming that it’s not working the way that it’s supposed to.

The Ghost Perk is a useful tool for stealthy players as it hides them from enemy UAVs, Portable Radars, and Heartbeat Sensors. However, players have reported that enemies can still find their location with the Perk active.

Reddit user ‘Darknotical’ explained in the Modern Warfare 2 subreddit that even when using Ghost, you will be revealed during a UAV ping if you fire your weapon before the pulse goes over you.

The Redditor followed this up by telling players to stop spreading “false information” about how using a suppressor in combination with the Perk will overcome this problem. It turns out, enemies will still be able to detect you.

The commenters were furious about this, with one user stating: “Ghost might as well not exist in this game. Idk why they bothered if they lock it behind a half game of getting merced by UAVs and still showing on radar.”

The player claimed that in its current state, the Perk is “mildly useless now.” Another user in the thread commented: “IW is gonna fix this, right? RIGHT?! I saw the Twitter videos. So f****** stupid.”

Popular FPS YouTuber JackFrags decided to test the Perk in Modern Warfare 2. He then explained that “even if you have Ghost active, and a suppressor on, if you shoot, you will be on the minimap for a few seconds in the next couple of UAV scans.”

He then asked players if they think that this is an intentional design choice by the developers or a strange bug that will need to be patched up.

JackFrags mentioned Infinity Ward in the tweet, but they’ve yet to respond to this issue. With Modern Warfare 2 Season 1 set to begin on November 16, we might see the developers make some changes to the Perk in the update.
