Modern Warfare 2 players hopping into the game’s multiplayer beta have come across a bizarre glitch that allows them to see through smoke while using Sniper Rifle scopes.

While waiting for the official arrival of Modern Warfare 2, Call of Duty players are checking out the game’s features in its multiplayer beta, including the reworked Perk system and brand-new Gunsmith.

However, the beta has not been free of glitches like the one letting players access the Warzone 2 menu. Now, a strange one has popped up that helps players counter the effects of smoke grenades.

In a short gameplay clip, Reddit user ‘GT-Ranz,’ came across an active smoke grenade on the Mercado Las Almas map. Even though the location was covered in smoke, the Redditor was able to see through it clearly.

All the Modern Warfare 2 player had to do was look through their Sniper Rifle scope and the smoke would completely disappear. It only came back into effect when the player looked at the area unscoped.

Smoke grenades are an effective tool for surprising your enemies, as you can move around while being obscured from their vision. Usually, you need to use thermal scopes in order to see through the effects, although Vanguard didn’t include them.

This glitch lets regular ones get the job done in the Modern Warfare 2 beta. Since the ability to completely bypass the effects of smoke grenades gives players an unfair advantage, this is a game-breaking glitch.

However, it’s worth keeping in mind that this is just the beta, so it’s possible that the developers will patch this issue up before the game’s official launch on October 28. We’ll be sure to update you if they address this glitch.
