Call of Duty Online Shut Down

Call of Duty Online had been an extremely popular entry in the franchise in the Chinese region, but various issues and the rise in popularity of CoD: Mobile has led to the official announcement of Call of Duty Online’s future shut down in China.

One entry in the high-profile first-person shooter franchise that many players may not know about is Call of Duty Online, a popular game in China over the past six years since its official release in 2015.

The title was a mashup of fan-favorite content from previous entries in the Call of Duty franchise, much in the same way as CoD: Mobile currently is. However, a couple of circumstances has led to the official reveal that Call of Duty Online will be shutting down in China with players being pushed towards CoD: Mobile.

Call of Duty Online Shut Down

According to a report by China & Asia Video Game Analyst Daniel Ahmad, Tencent will be shutting down Call of Duty Online at the end of August.

Declining revenue and the lack of renewal for licensing for the franchise from Activision were the two main reasons for the decision by Tencent to announce the upcoming shut down of Call of Duty Online in China, according to Ahmad.

The official announcement from Tencent regarding the shut down of Call of Duty Online states that there will be a compensation event for Call of Duty Online players who transition over to CoD: Mobile, where they will be able to bind the accounts and receive a variety of rewards.

With CoD: Mobile having seen a great deal of success globally following its official release, it is not surprising to see Activision decide not to renew the Call of Duty Online licensing and instead push those players towards one of its main focuses in the franchise now in CoD: Mobile.

Tencent is also in charge of CoD: Mobile in China, so the growing popularity of the game in the region currently was likely to be one of the indicators that it is the perfect time for Activision and Tencent to stop support for Call of Duty Online and focus completely on CoD: Mobile.

CoD: Mobile Season 8 brought plenty of new content for fans of the handheld FPS title, including the original Blackout battle royale map and the new M13 assault rifle.

The MFT Urban Smoothbore will improve your ADS and bolt times, allowing you to get shots off quicker, while the MIP Extended Light Barrel improves damage range by another 20%.

Call of Duty: Mobile has become immensely popular since its release, and for those who want an advantage over their opponents, using a controller is key. Not every controller is supported, but we’ve got everything you need to know, including the best settings for your gamepad for CoD: Mobile.

It may seem like an odd prospect to play Call of Duty’s leading handheld game with a fully-fledged gaming controller, but the fact is that CoD: Mobile is an essential game for any fans of the series. It takes lots of aspects from previous CoD titles and blends them into one game.

It’s not just a condensed version of the current games like Black Ops Cold War and Warzone, but in many ways, it’s a more complete offering. So it makes sense that people want to capture that authentic Call of Duty experience by using a controller on a smartphone or tablet.

With CoD: Mobile Season 8 kicking off, introducing the M13 and R9-0 weapons along with the Blackout map, there’s never been a better time to use a controller and give yourself an advantage over your opponents.

Best CoD: Mobile controller settings

Now you’ve connected your controller to CoD: Mobile, you’ll want to make sure you’re using the best settings. Unfortunately, there’s no way to match your settings with Warzone or Cold War’s, but there are plenty of settings you can tinker with to play CoD: Mobile at your best.

By going to the ‘Key Description’ tab, you can see all of the controls for CoD: Mobile’s different game modes, but you can customize them further.

  • Enable Controller Support: On
  • X-axis FLIP: Default
  • Y-axis FLIP: Default
  • Flip Triggers with Bumpers: Default
  • Tap ADS: Hold
  • Auto-Sprint: Off
  • Sprint Function: Push Left Joystick Forward

Multiplayer & Battle Royale Sensitivity

CoD: Mobile allows you to have separate sensitivity settings for multiplayer and battle royale, but we’d recommend keeping them consistent across the two.

  • Horizontal Sensitivity: 145
  • Vertical Sensitivity: 145
  • ADS & Non-Scope Horizontal Sensitivity: 100
  • ADS & Non-Scope Vertical Sensitivity: 100
  • Scope Horizontal Sensitivity: 95

  • Sniper ADS Horizontal Sensitivity: 50
  • Sniper ADS Vertical Sensitivity: 54

Everyone will require different settings depending on the size of their screen and personal preferences, but these are a great place to start. Take these settings as a baseline, then keep adjusting them until you’re comfortable.

Which controllers are supported in CoD: Mobile

Unfortunately, not every controller is supported by CoD: Mobile, with only the Sony PlayStation Dualshock 4 and Xbox One controllers at the moment. It’s likely that the PS5 and Xbox Series X controllers will be added to this list in the future.

It is possible to use other Bluetooth controllers, but because they aren’t officially supported, they may run into functionality issues at some point in the future.

Does using a controller in CoD: Mobile get you banned?

Don’t worry, using a controller in CoD: Mobile definitely won’t get you banned! Gamepads are completely supported by the developer, but be warned, you will be placed in lobbies with players using the same input. This means games might be harder, and probably increase matchmaking time.

M13 in CoD Mobile

The M13 Assault Rifle from Modern Warfare is on its way to Call of Duty: Mobile, so here are the right attachments and perks to create the best M13 loadout when it arrives in Season 8.

Season 8 brought plenty of fun new content to Call of Duty: Mobile, including the original Blackout map from Black Ops 4 and the R9-0 shotgun among other notable additions.

The M13 Assault Rifle from Modern Warfare will soon be a part of CoD: Mobile. This gun boasts an extremely high fire rate along with a strong headshot multiplier, and you’ll be able to use it to dish out some serious pain.

Here’s the best M13 loadout for CoD: Mobile Season 8.

Best CoD: Mobile M13 loadout attachments

CoD: Mobile M13 loadout attachments
  • Barrel: RTC Heavy Long Barrel
  • Stock: No Stock
  • Laser: OWC Laser Tactical
  • Rear Grip: Granulated Grip Tape
  • Ammunition: .300 RTC 30 Round Reload

We’re starting off this CoD: Mobile loadout with the RTC Heavy Long Barrel to boost the weapon’s ADS bullet spread, damage range, and recoil control. This will come at a slight cost to movement speed.

We went with No Stock for this loadout to make up for the lost movement speed. This attachment will have the added benefit of providing a buff to the weapon’s ADS time.

M13

The previous attachment will have the adverse effect of causing an ADS bullet spread dropoff, so we’ll make up for that with the Granulated Grip Tape Rear Grip attachment.

You’ll need to make every shot count, and you can ensure that you can improve your targeting by equipping the OWC Laser Tactical. This attachment also provides buffs to ADS time and ADS bullet spread.

Finally, we’ll cap off this loadout with the .300 RTC 30 Round Reload attachment which will let you hit distant targets with more power by boosting the damage range of the weapon.

Best Perks to run with the M13 in CoD: Mobile

CoD Mobile Fast Recover perk
  • Red Perk: Fast Recover
  • Green Perk: Vulture
  • Blue Perk: Dead Silence

You’ll need to make up for lost health during combat, so we recommend equipping the Fast Recover perk. This will ensure that your health instantly regenerates after scoring every kill.

Next, you’ll want to make sure that you have plenty of ammo left to dish out pain to your foes. The Vulture perk is a great choice since it will allow you to resupply ammo right away.

Finally, you should go with Dead Silence to almost completely muffle your footsteps, letting you take your foes by surprise.

How to unlock the M13 in CoD: Mobile

cod mobile season 8 M13 Assault Rifle and R9-0 Shotgun

This weapon didn’t become available right when Season 8 went live. If you want to unlock the M13 in CoD: Mobile then you will have to complete a seasonal challenge which will become available later on in Season 8.

We’ll check for when the challenge becomes available and will update this article with the information.

Best alternatives to CoD: Mobile’s M13

If you want a good alternative to the M13 Assault Rifle, then we recommend trying out the Man-O-War. Its very-high DPS, manageable recoil, and understated accuracy make it the best weapon in the CoD: Mobile.

The DR-H is another great pick since it has a superb fire rate for an Assault Rifle and packs an incredible punch. So there are some great alternatives to the M13 available in CoD: Mobile.
