Call of Duty: Vanguard players will have an assortment of different ammo types they can equip to their weapons to make them even more powerful.

We’ve received a lot of information on Call of Duty: Vanguard recently, especially the Multiplayer mode. As well as details on what weapons to expect and how the Create-a-Class system will work, players finally have information on the different ammo types.

Just like the suppressors working slightly differently in Vanguard, Call of Duty’s next installment will also host a variety of Ammo types for weapons, which alter the nature of the weapon’s projectiles.

Here is the latest information on the Call of Duty: Vanguard ammo types.

A Call of Duty blog revealed some details ahead of the Vanguard Beta to give players a head start and an idea of what to expect. As well as details on the maps and modes available, we also got information on attachments for weapons.

One of the most exciting attachments is the Vanguard Ammo types, as they can completely change a player’s playstyle and the nature of their weapon’s bullets.

Ammo is one of the core areas of weapons that players can customize to a great degree in Call of Duty: Vanguard. This customization includes “How large a weapon’s magazine is, how fast an Operator can reload with it” and more. There are also sub-statistics like penetration and concealment that allow Vanguard ammo types to give players different bonuses.

You can find all of the Call of Duty: Vanguard ammo types currently known below:

  • FMJ – increases bullet penetration through surfaces
  • Lengthened – increases bullet velocity
  • Subsonic – keeps players off of enemy minimaps when they fire
  • Frangible – increases flinch dealt, delays enemy healing, and hitting enemy legs slows movement
  • Armor Piercing – increased damage against vehicles and killstreaks
  • Incendiary – adds incendiary damage
  • Hollow Point – removes damage penalty when hitting limbs

Players were able to upgrade weapons in the Champion Hill Alpha, and some did notice how their bullets seemed to take on an explosive lighting effect.

There was also a Deathmachine with explosive rounds, so perhaps we will see a similar attachment for weapons in the Beta. We will continue to update this hub with more Vanguard ammo types as they are revealed.

We’ll have to wait and see precisely how these attachments will shape up when the game releases on November 5. For now, check out our article on players being unhappy about the killstreaks.

Vanguard January 27 update patch notes: Cold Blooded buff, Fortified adjustments & spawn fixes

Here are the full patch notes for Vanguard’s January 27 update, which buffed the Cold Blooded Perk and adjusted spawn logic.

Published

Vanguard’s developers Sledgehammer Games released a patch on January 27 that rolled out a fix for spawns on Paradise, adjusted the Fortified Perk, and buffed Cold Blooded.

It’s no surprise that Vanguard players have been frustrated with the current state of the game and Sledgehammer Games have been hard at work to alleviate issues with the game.

We received a Vanguard update on January 20, and it looks like players are getting another small update on January 27 to alleviate minor issues before Vanguard Season 2.

The January 27 update addressed spawn issues on the Paradise map, tweaked the Cold Blooded and Fortified Perks, as well as eliminated performance issues across Multiplayer and Zombies.

Here’s everything you need to know about Vanguard’s January 27 update.

Vanguard update January 27 Perk tuning

The significant buff to Cold Blooded will now protect players from enemy dogs. Adding dogs to the list of killstreaks that will not target you acts as a big boost to the Perk. Dogs are often the most annoying killstreak to deal with in Vanguard Multiplayer.

Unfortunately, the “Aim assist toggles on and off when the player is engaging an enemy player with the Cold Blooded perk on” card has not been removed from Sledgehammer’s Vanguard Trello board which leads us to believe this issue has not been fixed yet.

The changes made to Fortified are meant to revert the recent changes made to the Perk that practically turned players invincible. Now certain killstreaks will be able to damage players with Fortified equipped.

XP has been a vital component of Call of Duty’s multiplayer for many years. It’s the quintessential upgrade mechanic that allows you to increase your in-game level and provide you access to better gear and attachments.

Vanguard and Warzone Pacific carried on from where Cold War and Warzone left off by giving players limited-time windows of opportunity to increase the XP they can earn.

How to get Double XP in CoD: Vanguard & Warzone Pacific

Call of Duty players can get Double XP by taking advantage of the Double XP promotional events that Activision put on.

Thanks to the Raven Software Trello board, we know that there will be a few Double XP events upcoming:

  • PlayStation Exclusive Double XP from Feb 17 – 18
  • Double XP, 2x Weapon XP, and 2x Battle Pass XP from Feb 18 – 21

These regular occurrences will help players to level up their ranks, weapons, and Battle Passes much faster than normal.

What time does CoD: Vanguard & Warzone Pacific Double XP start?

  • PST – 10:00 AM

These special Double XP events usually occur during a weekend, as it naturally gives players the most time as it’s away from school hours and generally when people are off work.

Vanguard players slam utterly “boring” Operators

Call of Duty: Vanguard players are slamming the game’s current lineup of Operators and labeling them as “boring.”

Published

CoD: Vanguard players are expressing their frustration with the current lineup of Operators; labeling them as “boring” and calling for more exciting characters in the game.

There are 12 different Operators that you can play as in Call of Duty: Vanguard. Picking any of them doesn’t affect your gameplay, since they’re essentially cosmetic skins that you wear in the multiplayer.

While they all have their own unique backstories and designs, some players aren’t satisfied with these Operators. Some members of the Vanguard community feel that these characters just aren’t fun and exciting.

Reddit user ‘Mibs007’ expressed their frustration with the game’s Operators in the CoD: Vanguard subreddit, labeling them as “boring.” The player also compared them to characters from older CoD titles.

They explained that older Operators were much more enticing: “It was hard to choose which one to use. You could barely resist giving in and buying one. Now they look like people you see eating a truck stop.”

Many of the commenters shared this sentiment and criticized Vanguard’s Operators. “Hate them all. Haven’t spent a penny on anything in the store since vanguard launched,” wrote one user.

Much of the criticism was directed towards the characters’ backstories. “I agree that they could be cooler characters though and their ‘lore’ feels like it was written by an intern in 5 minutes,” another commenter stated.

One user claimed that Vanguard’s Operators could be improved by having two factions: “All the operators are the good guys basically. If that had an Axis faction I think we would at least get some variety in character design.”

At the time of writing, it’s unclear whether or not the developers will implement a change like this in the game. We will probably see new Operators arrive in Vanguard Season 2, and those might be more to players’ liking.
