The Beta for Call of Duty: Vanguard has already revealed several of the game’s maps, and we know of more to come, so here’s a quick guide to all the confirmed CoD maps so far.

Maps are a vital component of a Call of Duty game and can determine how successful it is. Campaign missions and guns are fun, but it’s the best Call of Duty maps that players remember the most fondly.

Crash, Terminal, Nuketown, Raid, Highrise, and so many others evoke memories for players and even create new ones as their popularity leads to map remasters.

Call of Duty: Vanguard looks to carry on this trend by offering prospective buyers and fans another year of compelling gameplay on interesting and varied maps.

Here is every confirmed Call of Duty: Vanguard map so far.

Gavutu

A location that truly makes use of the capabilities of state-of-the-art, modern-day hardware. Gavutu is a stunning war-torn island that pelts the player with rain and various weather effects, whilst also offering several different ways of fighting.

There’s the classic beachfront complete with cover and means to flank the opposition, there are several pathways that link the three main channels together (even providing sniping lanes), and the matter of a giant ship situated on land that provides different levels of combat and verticality.

Hotel Royal

Centered around a giant hotel complete with a full kitchen, bar, lounge areas, and other facilities, Hotel Royal might be one of Call of Duty’s most expansive and ambitious maps ever made.

If you’re not eager to throw yourself into the inevitable carnage within the building, you can opt to flank all around the outside of it, contesting ledges and rooftops.

But the real fun is on the inside of the premises, as the game’s new emphasis on destruction leads to explosives blowing doors open and bullets puncturing holes in the walls. You’ll need to wade through scattered glass into tight rooms filled with multiple players – thanks to the game’s Combat Pacing options.

Red Star

A frosty hello awaits anyone who crosses your path in this open square covered in snow. The desolation is apparent throughout each of the map’s buildings with large chunks missing, making for more devious gunfights and sniping and flanking opportunities.

The map definitely feels like the biggest map in the Call of Duty: Vanguard Beta and can become slightly problematic if it’s only a 6v6 match. But once you start to add numbers to the scenario, games become open, frantic, and extremely varied.

Eagle’s Nest

The fourth map is arriving in the second week of Vanguard’s Beta testing, and multiplayer footage of it showed Eagle’s Nest to be a quaint location atop some mountains.

It’s similar to Hotel Royal in that fixates on a building located in the middle of the map, but the two spawn areas have a lot of room to negotiate and could make for some interesting duels in themselves.

Castle

The Call of Duty: Vanguard official multiplayer blog outed two remake maps that would definitely be featuring in the newest CoD shooter.

The first of which is Castle from Call of Duty: World at War, and has never been seen in a CoD game since, until now. Its primarily situated in and around a Japanese castle, which is evident because of the iconic rooftops and shoji screens – which are now destructible.

It will be interesting to see how much the map has changed compared to its original 2008 release, but one thing that’s certain is it’s nice to see it back.

Dome

The second of our two confirmed remasters is Dome – a map requested by Call of Duty fans in fact. It’s very reminiscent of smaller maps like Shoot House, Dust, and Shipment, and guarantees frequent bloodshed.

Effects such as Combat Fog will tie in with enhanced levels of detail to make Dome feel more alive than ever. Expect high-intensity games, chaotic action, and a good time!

As we get closer to Call of Duty: Vanguard’s release, Sledgehammer Games will inevitably hint towards other maps, with more to come after launch, and we’ll keep updating this page as we learn more.

Will CoD: Vanguard have Zombies? Developer, maps, Outbreak & more

Call of Duty: Zombies has been a hugely popular mode for the franchise, but what will it be in Vanguard, and what will it be like?

Call of Duty Vanguard Zombies

Call of Duty Zombies fans have been wondering whether Sledgehammer Games will bring the mode to Vanguard, and if so, what they can expect from it.

After players were finally able to get a taste of Call of Duty: Vanguard‘s Multiplayer during the Open Beta, players have been even more curious when it comes to the game’s other modes.

As we know from the reveal, Call of Duty: Vanguard will have a Campaign mode, which follows various characters across the global WWII fronts.

Many have been wondering whether Vanguard will have its own Zombies mode, and luckily we finally have some answers.

Will Call of Duty: Vanguard have Zombies?

Zombies in Call of Duty: Vanguard

In Call of Duty’s blog post announcing Vanguard, they gave fans a short description of what they can expect from the game.

It says that not only is a Campaign and Multiplayer mode confirmed for the game but a “universe-expanding Zombies crossover” is also mentioned. The blog also confirmed that the mode will intertwine with Black Ops Cold War’s Zombies, which is excellent for those who have enjoyed the Dark Aether story.

This makes a lot of sense, considering players have been finding hints and intel in Black Ops Cold War Zombies that reference the WWII time frame and a demonologist known as Krafft.

Vanguard’s Zombies will act as a precursor to Black Ops Cold War Zombies, with the content being available for the mode as soon as the game is launched on November 5.

Who will be developing Vanguard Zombies?

Sledgehammer Games have officially stated that Vanguard Zombies will indeed be developed by Treyarch, the developers who initially brought the mode to the Call of Duty experience.

“We’re excited to announce a franchise-first crossover as Call of Duty: Vanguard features an all-new Zombies game mode with development led by Treyarch Studios.”

Many will love this, as although Sledgehammer games provided a great experience in their take on Zombies back in Call of Duty: WWII, there’s no doubt that Treyarch has created the most memorable experiences for Zombies.

Will Vanguard feature Outbreak?

While rumors have suggested that Vanguard Zombies will not have a round-based map for players to get into on launch, there will still be content for players to enjoy.

The content that will be available on launch is rumored to be inspired by Black Ops Cold War’s Outbreak mode, with TheMW2Ghost claiming the mode will be as if “Outbreak, Onslaught, and Roundbased had a baby.”

No official information has yet been revealed regarding the maps players can expect to see in the Vanguard Zombies mode. However, a leak has pointed towards the name of the first map being Ritual of the Dead.

It has also been speculated that the Season 6 Zombies map for Black Ops Cold War will tie into the first Vanguard Zombies map considering that the new Call of Duty game will be continuing the Dark Aether story.

We will continue to update this hub with all of the latest information for Call of Duty: Vanguard Zombies when it is revealed.

Scump reveals the one thing he would change about CoD: Vanguard

2017 CoD World Champion Scump is a big fan of Vanguard, but thinks the game needs one major change before its November 5 release.

The Call of Duty: Vanguard Beta is officially finished, and while pro player Seth ‘Scump’ Abner had a lot of fun, the 2017 World Champion revealed that he thinks ‘time-to-kill’ needs adjusting before its November release.

Call of Duty fans only had a few days to try out the Vanguard Beta, but players have already had their say about the game, and more specifically what they want to be changed, from spawn improvements to the removal of overpowered Field Upgrades.

For OpTic Gaming legend Scump though, the Vanguard Beta was definitely enjoyable, praising the gameplay, maps, and overall feel. Despite loving it though, there’s one thing he thinks should be changed: the Vanguard TTK.

In a new video uploaded to his YouTube channel, the Call of Duty legend admitted he “loved” to play Vanguard, saying: “Usually with betas, you get sick of it really quick. I played it for about 6 hours every day, that’s impressive for a beta.”

However, when talking about the game’s weapons, the 2017 World Champions revealed that he believes the time-to-kill is a little too low and needs to be adjusted slightly.

“The weapons were a lot of fun to use, the gunplay was great,” he states. “My one big quarrel with the gunplay though is the time-to-kill needs to be a little bit slower. It’s pretty quick on every single gun.”

“I wish the time-to-kill was a little bit slower. Maybe they’ll tweak that, maybe they won’t, but right now you put three bullets into someone and they drop which I don’t really agree with. It feels [kind of like] hardcore.”

Whether Sledgehammer Games will make any changes to the TTK remains to be seen, but the developers did listen to complaints from the community and make adjustments between the first and second beta weekends, so it is possible.

This may be a design choice though, with Scump mentioning that both Warzone and Modern Warfare have fast time-to-kills as well — two games that run on the same engine as Vanguard.

Unfortunately, it’s unlikely we’ll know whether the devs have made any changes until Vanguard releases on November 5.

CoD hackers explain how cheating in Warzone helped them crack Vanguard

Hackers found a way into Call of Duty: Vanguard before it’s full release. Sources have now claimed that Warzone may have held the secret.

Many players were shocked to see that hackers had already made their way into the Call of Duty: Vanguard beta. Now, one hacker has revealed that the secret to breaking Vanguard came from Warzone.

The community has had its first extended look at CoD: Vanguard through the recently-ended Open Beta. This was fans’ chance to get to grips with the new maps, and the WWII aesthetic.

However, the fun was spoiled for some by cheaters that had already found a way to hack the game’s code. It has since been explained that it was past experiences with Warzone that helped them crack it.

Shortly after the much-anticipated Beta was opened up on September 16, players quickly began to notice that hacks like aimbots were already turning up in lobbies.

In some cases, cheaters had found a way to completely end matches early, which was frustrating fans because of the limited time they had to play the game over the course of the weekend.

In a report published by Vice, an industry source explained that it was their experience with previous titles like Warzone that paved the way for cheating in Vanguard.

“The core of the [Call of Duty] engine hasn’t changed much during the life of the franchise so porting a cheat from one game to another has always been very easy,” they said. The source also said that the code for Vanguard was very similar to that of Warzone or Modern Warfare.

According to CoD insider Tom Henderson, the Beta launched with the same protection against cheaters that is present in Warzone at the moment, which we already know has been ineffective.

In the same report, hack developer IWANTCHEATS also warned that its Vanguard cheats will work with the new Pacific Map coming as part of the integration into Warzone.

Unfortunately, we won’t know if this is true until more details surface about the updated anti-cheat system due to be added to the battle royale later this year. Fans will hope that their experiences with hackers won’t translate into the next CoD chapter.
