Call of Duty players are asking the developers for Vanguard to rethink a specific feature of Modern Warfare killstreaks, pleading they return to the way it worked on classic installments.

Call of Duty fans will soon get their hands on the upcoming installment for the franchise, Vanguard, with PlayStation users lucky enough to gain access to the Alpha on August 27, which will showcase a new game mode.

For those who aren’t on that platform, the Open Beta will also be available soon after. Although players haven’t got their hands on the game, the community is already suggesting what the developers should and shouldn’t do.

As well as some returning features from Modern Warfare, Vanguard will also go back to the classic killstreak system as opposed to scorestreaks which have been a big part of the more recent Call of Duty games.

Players have expressed their love for the killstreak system over the scorestreak system, mostly as it is a system that originated in the first few Call of Duty Multiplayer games. In fact, Modern Warfare’s killstreak system was not a complete mirror of the original system, which some players are now calling for Vanguard to have.

Reddit user Woaahhhh posted their opinion on what killstreaks should look like in Call of Duty: Vanguard, claiming that it is “the one thing that no ones mentioned but we really need.”

While the community is frustrated about the Alpha not containing a FOV slider for cons and as the destruction physics that will be featured in Vanguard, this player believes the most important component will be how killstreaks work.

In recent years, killstreaks and scorestreaks in Multiplayer have been restricted to one use per life, whereas in the original Call of Duty games, players could stack them and obtain them more than once.

In the original Modern Warfare, players could continue to gain killstreaks so long as they didn’t die, meaning once you got an Attack Helicopter, you could then gain another UAV after three more kills on top of that.

It’s this system that the player is calling for the developers to bring back in Call of Duty: Vanguard, which they are calling “CONTINUOUS KILL STREAKS.”

Players will have to wait for more information and the release of Vanguard on November 5 to know exactly how the killstreak system will work. For more, check out our article on players wanting a particular Battlefield 2042 feature in Vanguard.
