Here are all of the Call of Duty: Vanguard pre-order rewards and benefits players can receive.

With competitive online multiplayer games, it’s common that pr-order bonuses are offered. Whether they be XP boosters or exclusive skins, pre-order rewards come in a variety of forms.

When Black Ops Cold War was announced, the game came in three different editions. These were the Standard Edition, Cross-Gen Bundle, and Ultimate Edition. Each came with its own set of rewards.

And it seems that Call of Duty: Vanguard is using a similar sales strategy. Here’s what players will receive when they pre-order each edition.

Call of Duty: Vanguard Pre-Order

Vanguard Standard Edition Pre-order

When players pre-ordered the Standard Edition of Black Ops Cold War, they didn’t get any bonuses. However, that’s not the case for the Vanguard Standard Edition.

The Digital Standard Edition (MSRP $59.99) is for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Regardless of which edition the player buys, they will receive the following Vanguard pre-order bonuses.

  • Early access to Call of Duty: Vanguard Open Beta
  • Night Raid Mastercraft Weapon Blueprint
  • Frontline Weapons Pack
    • “Shredder” SMG
    • “Wildwood” SMG
  • Operator Arthur Kingsley
  • Pre-load game before launch

There are no bonuses specific to the Standard Edition.

Cross-Gen Pre-order

The Cross-Gen Bundle (MSRP $69.99) allows you to play on both current and last-gen consoles. In addition to all of the rewards from the previous edition, here are the Vanguard pre-order bonuses for the Cross-Gen Bundle.

  • Five hours of Double Weapons Experience Points (2x WXP) for Vangaurd and Warzone

These bonuses still apply to those who purchase the Cross-Gen Bundle for PC.

Vanguard Ultimate Edition Pre-order

The Ultimate Edition (MSRP $99.99) comes with a few extra pre-order goodies. The Ultimate Edition includes the Task Force One Pack, which has three Operator Skins and Three Weapon Blueprints.

However, the pre-order bonuses are only slightly better than the Cross-Gen Bundle.

  • Battle Pass and 20 Tier Skips
  • 10 hours of Double Experience Points (2x WXP) for Vanguard and Warzone
    • Five hours of Double Weapons XP
    • Five hours of Double XP

Call of Duty: Vanguard players call for big spawn improvements

The Beta for Call of Duty: Vanguard isn’t meant to be perfect, but players are frustrated with spawn system in the game at present.

The erratic spawn system in Call of Duty: Vanguard hasn’t been received very well in the CoD community with players calling them “hell” in the Beta.

The Call of Duty franchise has always excelled at refining its tight online multiplayer format that has served the series well for the last 15 years. It’s produced some all-time great CoD maps, ridiculously fun and gripping game modes, but some questionable spawning.

We touched upon this issue in or Call of Duty: Vanguard Beta Review that they “stick out like a sore thumb.” Understandably, the new Combat Pacing system means some maps will have to adjust from 6v6 matches to high intensity 16v16 wars.

However, in its present state, Vanguard has some serious spawn issues, and the community has been vocal about this.

Ohhscar rhetorically asks someone to “Explain these spawns,” and the words are accompanied by a video showing how problematic spawning is in the Vanguard Beta.

In the video, our player was able to string together 9 consecutive kills to earn themself the Flamenaut killstreak on Hotel Royal, and then encountered some of the enemy team.

Naturally, they unleashed burning, hot streams of fire and engulfed the opposition. It instantly killed any enemies, but they were quickly being replaced by more.

In the remaining 40 seconds of the video, it was a constant stream of fire and opponents respawning in the same spot, leaving them trapped and unable to move.

Reddit user Madzai said: “I never saw something this bad in MW. Sure, there were some quite awful spawns and spawn trapping, but never something like this,” and someone else asked: “Is this what hell looks like?”

A few replies were quick to point out that Vanguard is still in its Beta testing, and that they should be better by now.

At the time of writing, there are still another two months until the Call of Duty: Vanguard release date, so we wouldn’t be surprised to see this fixed before it’s out.

Confused CoD: Vanguard players desperate for faction uniforms

Factions have been staple of the Call of Duty for many year’s, but their removal in Vanguard is making it hard to tell who is who.

Call of Duty: Vanguard has been criticized for its lack of identifiable factions throughout its Beta. Now, a Reddit video has shown that similar character models are causing confusion among players.

Players taking part in the Call of Duty: Vanguard Beta have raised several potential issues with the next CoD title, from the mini-map to the distortion that affects aiming.

But one of the biggest complaints coming out of the Beta is the lack of factions like the Allies and Axis, which are pivotal to a World War II setting.

The debate is heating up once again, as players have claimed that similar character uniforms for the Vanguard Factions are causing chaos in multiplayer matches.

Vanguard characters in a line

In a post entitled “Why we need faction uniforms,” Reddit user KiraElijah uploaded a video that seems to prove that Sledgehammer’s decision to make teammates and enemies look almost identical is leading to cases of mistaken identity.

In the video, the player aims out of a window and scores a handful of rapid kills. When they stop aiming down the scope, they find that an enemy player crouched at the same window.

The enemy was utterly unaware that they were directly next to a rival player, and it led to a quick death that they almost certainly didn’t see coming.

Other fans responded to the post, reporting similar instances where they had “no clue” whether they were running with enemies or teammates. The issue of there being no specific uniforms for Vanguard Factions seems to be more evident on smaller maps where there are many players in an objective.

Some Beta players have even tied altering their settings to try and make visibility better and stop any confusion.

“I’ve changed the settings in color customization. I basically just made the enemy color a brighter red,” said one user. “It helps but doesn’t fix the issues.”

The reason for Sledgehammer removing Vanguard factions is currently unknown. Still, it has been speculated it could be to do with promoting more character customization or distancing the devs from controversial topics like the Axis in WWII.

It remains to be seen if the developers will react to the communities complaints and add a better way of recognizing enemies.

As Call of Duty: Vanguard is still in its beta phase, there is plenty of time to make changes before its release date.

New leak claims Shipment returns in CoD Vanguard: All maps revealed

The full list of launch maps for Call of Duty: Vanguard may have been leaked ahead of the game’s full release thanks to some data mining.

Thanks to some data mining of the Call of Duty: Vanguard’s files, it seems like we may know all of the maps that will debut with the game’s release date.

It’s already been confirmed by Sledgehammer Games that we can expect to see a whopping 20 maps at launch for Call of Duty: Vanguard. This will be comprised of 16 different 6v6 maps, and 4 Champion Hill Arenas too.

So far across the Alpha and Beta, we’ve seen one of the four Champion Hill maps, and 4 of the 6v6 maps: Red Star, Hotel Royal, Gavutu, and Eagle’s Nest.

But it seems like a leaker has been able to data mine the remaining maps we can possibly expect to see at launch in Call of Duty: Vanguard.

As posted by Twitter user @HeyImAlaix, we can see all the existing maps we’ve seen so far, some of the other confirmed, but not yet seen maps, in Dome and Castle, and a bunch of other locations.

A couple of interesting observations to note are that Gavutu has a potential second version of itself, Hotel Royal is misspelled, the classic fan-favorite map Shipment could be returning, and the list has 27 maps in total on it.

Now, we should note that some of these maps could be leftover names from the engine files with some of them being so similar to Modern Warfare. You should also remember to not take this information as gospel.

If this does indeed turn out to be representative of maps that will be coming to Vanguard, then it’s possible that a few of these are being saved and readied for the expected Season 1 launch and integration with Warzone.
