Best MG42 loadout for CoD: Vanguard
The MG42 has won many players over with its steady accuracy, solid fire rate, and great power that can keep going through a belt of bullets. Our top Vanguard loadout will ensure your MG42 loadout is solid, Perks and attachments and all.
With most first-person shooter games like Call of Duty: Vanguard, players always default to a meta Assault Rifle or SMG. Yet, LMGs can be just as precise, hit just as hard, and have a huge endurance advantage.
Call of Duty: Vanguard’s MG42 is a perfect example of this and has been a great pick for players in the Multiplayer.
So we decided to create the best Vanguard MG42 loadout to use in Sledgehammer Games’ newest FPS.
Best Vanguard MG42 Gunsmith loadout attachments
- Muzzle: Scythe Compensator
- Barrel: Krausnick 450MM B42MG
- Optic: Monocular Reflector
- Stock: Krausnick S91MG
- Underbarrel: MK6 Para
- Magazine: 8MM Jaeger 50 Round Fast Mags
- Ammo Type: Subsonic
- Rear Grip: Leather Grip
- Proficiency: Tight Grip
- Kit: Defender
The first attachment for the best Vanguard MG42 loadout will be the Scythe Compensator, as it curtails some of the weapon’s vertical recoil at no cost. Whilst the Krausnick 450MM B42MG sees a hit to recoil but gets a ridiculous range and bullet velocity boost.
Next up is the Monocular Reflector, as it grants a lot of clear sight and doesn’t impede ADS, and the Krausnick S91MG boosts ADS further.
Speed will always be an issue with a bulky LMG, so the MK6 Para improves its sprint-to-free time and enhances ADS some more. The 8MM Jaeger 50 Round Fast Mags still offer plenty of bullets in a fight and quickens the reload process for players that worry about the reload time of the best Vanguard loadout.
Subsonic ammo is sure to be a popular choice amongst players as it can conceal you from the minimap, and the Leather Grip is essential to keep bringing down that ADS time and make the best Vanguard MG42 loadout closer to ARs and SMGs in that respect.
The final stretch sees us add Defender as our kit as mounting will be a big plus for the MG42, so make the most of this advantage and easy aiming. Then slap on Tight Grip proficiency to increase your chances of taking down enemies.
Best Perks to run with Vanguard MG42
- Perk 1: Ghost
- Perk 2: Radar
- Perk 3: Overkill
A trust, old-school Perk, Ghost will help conceal you from the minimap when you’re moving and deter pesky, overhead UAVs when you are fighting with the best Vanguard MG42 loadout.
Vanguard makes use of the 2019 Modern Warfare minimap system, so firing an unsuppressed weapon won’t reveal your location. Radar will make those players appear and make players consider Subsonic ammo.
Our final Perk is Overkill. Vanguard doesn’t allow players to have Shotguns as a secondary like in Black Ops Cold War, so we would prefer another primary weapon.
How to unlock the MG42 in Vanguard
The MG42 is available for players to use in Call of Duty: Vanguard’s Multiplayer as soon as you unlock Custom Loadouts on Level 4.
The MG42 is the first LMG available for players, and you can use it straight away as well through the Default Class “Sapper.”
Best alternatives
Some alternatives to the MG42 include the MP-40, which will take a few levels to unlock, and the STG44 is a mean Assault Rifle that you definitely need to try out.
And that’s the best MG42 loadout you can run in Call of Duty: Vanguard! Be sure to check out our review of the Multiplayer.
