CoD: Vanguard players call for one major Modern Warfare feature to not be added
Call of Duty: Vanguard is almost among us, and as we edge closer to release, players continue to put in their requests for what they want and don’t want in the final product.
Call of Duty: Vanguard was finally experienced by the public for the first time exclusively on PlayStation for the Alpha.
The Alpha received a lot of feedback, some good and some bad, but one thing that stood out was its similarity to Modern Warfare.
Of course, this is because the games are using the same engine, perhaps to aid the eventual Warzone integration. However, some players are asking the developers to change one aspect of Modern Warfare that they didn’t enjoy for Vanguard.
Call of Duty: Vanguard is set to release November 5, and while we edge closer and closer to the date, the more details we will gain about its Multiplayer mode.
Call of Duty’s Multiplayer mode has a strong returning fan base every year. Although the formula mostly stays the same, there are differences between the various studios that produce Call of Duty games.
Vanguard will possess the same engine as Warzone and Modern Warfare (2019), which will have its positives and negatives depending on your preference. This has ultimately got players questioning just how far Vanguard will mirror Modern Warfare, especially when it comes to map voting.
Reddit user Trashboat77 raised his concerns about map voting for Call of Duty: Vanguard, stating, “Worried Map Voting will not be in the final game.”
Map voting has been a great way for players to democratically decide on a map for the next game in Call of Duty’s Multiplayer mode. It also allowed players to vote for the map they had just played on, giving them the option to play a favorited map more than once.
This is something that the player wasn’t too happy with in Modern Warfare, saying that “one of the things I really DON’T want carried over is the lack of map voting that game had. It SUCKED to just get tossed into a sh*tty map you hate with the already restrictive SBMM on top of it.”
The latest Call of Duty game, Black Ops Cold War, had the map voting system players were more used to, and it’s something players would like to see return: “Cold War brought map voting back, and I really hope it’s here to stay. I kept hoping MW2019 would either add it later or that not having it was just a bug (it had plenty anyway).”
This player isn’t the only one who feels this way either, as someone in the comments also said: “I really hate how cod just change so many things that are perfect. like lobby disbanding or map voting. I’m open to gameplay changes, but things like that don’t need changing.”
We’ll have to wait and see what Call of Duty: Vanguard’s map voting system will be like, and perhaps player feedback will somewhat influence the outcome.
