Vanguard data shows Combat Pacing options still “broken”
Frustrated with Call of Duty: Vanguard’s Combat Pacing options appearing not to work, a player has recorded their matches with the Assault filter and discovered it “does not work at all.”
While Call of Duty has traditionally been played 6v6, Vanguard introduced Combat Pacing options so players could choose how they want maps to be played. By picking from Tactical, Assault, or Blitz, players have the option to up the player count, making for much more chaotic lobbies.
This filter acts as more of a preference, and you’re not hard-locked to the chosen pacing. However, one player has recorded their data to prove that the Assault filter “does not work at all,” giving an equal mix of all Combat Pacings.
The Tactical filter had issues in Vanguard’s first couple of weeks, where players who just wanted the classic 6v6 experience would be thrown into 8v8 and 10v10 matches. Sledgehammer Games have fixed the Tactical issue, but the Assault filter appears to still be broken.
Tired of playing the wrong Combat Pacing, aptly-named Reddit user ArduousAttempt has recorded 100 matches queued through the Assault filter.
While it is a preference and other pacings may pop up, it should give Assault matches more often than not. Instead, there appears to be an even split between the three match types.
After queuing for Assault, they claim to have got Blitz 32 times, Tactical 33 times, and Assault 35 times. The OP explained that this distribution is “what you would expect from selecting All.”
Users in the comments also shared their experiences, saying that the Tactical filter is the only one that appears to work. A few reiterated that it’s a preference and won’t work all the time, but ArduosAttempt argued that “If one option gives you the same result as selected All then it is broken.”
Vanguard is set to get a major update for the launch of Season 1 on December 8, so it’s possible that the Combat Pacing filters will be tightened up here.
