Vanguard devs finally buff Perk to counter dogs Killstreaks
Call of Duty: Vanguard players had no defense against the powerful Attack Dogs Killstreak, but the January 27 update buffed a Perk to finally counter dogs.
Attack Dogs first arrived in Call of Duty: World at War, allowing players to deploy a pack of vicious hounds that would hunt down enemies. They returned in Vanguard, but not without their issues. These dogs terrorized players by teleporting, and frustrated players wanted to see them nerfed.
Part of the reason they were so powerful was that there was no direct counter, but that changed in Vanguard’s January 27 update, with the Cold Blooded Perk now countering Attack Dogs.
Vanguard Cold Blooded Perk counters dogs Killstreaks
Vanguard’s multiplayer drastically changes when a player reaches a 10 Killstreak and calls in the Attack Dogs. The player just needs to sit back as these AI-controlled hounds hunt down every enemy on the opposite team, killing them in one bite and sponging a ton of bullets.
Vanguard players have been desperate for Sledgehammer Games to either nerf the dogs or buff a Perk to counter them. This finally happened, with Vanguard’s January 27 patch notes confirming: “Cold Blooded now protects against dogs.”
Cold Blooded’s description has always read: “AI-controlled killstreaks will not target you.” So, this was likely a mistake rather than a feature, and it’s since been corrected.
Alongside being able to hide from player-controlled Killstreaks and the Forward Intel Perk, the Guard Dog and Attack Dogs will no longer target you. This will be especially useful on small maps such as Shipment and Das Haus, as it can be almost impossible to get away from them in the close-quarters chaos.
Sledgehammer Games are also investigating an issue where Cold Blooded breaks aim assist. However, players have also started reporting that they’re losing aim assist against non-Cold Blooded players too.
Hopefully, Sledgehammer Games can get on top of these glitches soon, perhaps February’s Season 2 update that brings Ranked Play. For more on killstreaks, check out how to get a V2 Rocket in Vanguard.
