Vanguard players call for changes to “ridiculous” slow weapon XP leveling
Call of Duty: Vanguard players have slammed the “ridiculous” amount of time it takes to level up weapons in the game, and are calling for the devs to make some changes to the weapon XP rate.
Call of Duty players have plenty of fun new content to explore in Vanguard, including the new Sten SMG and 16 multiplayer maps. You can also level up your weapons by earning XP as you play.
Most weapons can go up to level 70, so it takes quite some time for players to earn enough weapon XP. Now, fans are asking for the developers to make some changes to the weapon XP rate.
Reddit user DocDeezy highlighted this issue in the CoD: Vanguard subreddit. The player brought up that the weapon XP rate is too slow in the game and wants the developers to speed it up.
“Vanguard’s weapon grind is the absolute worst I’ve ever seen,” said the Redditor. “It’s actually ridiculous… It’s to the point where I’m just playing Valorant until COD fixes their broken weapon XP, again for the second year in a row.”
The player then elaborated that they would have to put in “a full 8-hour shift to level up one single gun.” This can be particularly frustrating to fans who aren’t able to spend that much time in the game.
Black Ops Cold War faced a similar problem at launch where the weapon XP was slower than intended, but this was eventually rectified. CoD: Vanguard fans are hoping for a similar outcome.
Many commenters feel that the weapon XP rate is too slow in both multiplayer and Zombies mode. “I’m stuck using the same gun for 1-2 days JUST to level it up, not including camo challenges. Not worth the grind currently,” wrote one user.
At the time of writing, it’s unclear whether or not Sledgehammer Games intend to implement any updates to weapon level XP in CoD: Vanguard. Until then, you’ll just need to grind with the same weapon for a few hours.
