Call of Duty: Warzone will be ‘tightly connected’ to COD 2020
Activision President has confirmed during the Activision Blizzard Q2 earnings call on August 4 that Call of Duty: Warzone will be tightly connected to the franchise going forward.
Rob Kostich, the company’s president, revealed that Call of Duty: Warzone will be tightly connected to the 2020 game and beyond as they bring new experiences into the Call of Duty world.
And what you should expect is that there will be a very tight integration between the two. Modern Warfare and Warzone are obviously very tightly connected, and I think that’s really important for the player base.
Kostich said that the company plans to ‘tightly connect’ the two experiences. This is because they don’t want to give players a different experience for playing in different ways.
He notes that we should expect this in the future too.
We plan to do the same with all our upcoming titles as well – our premium titles — to ensure we can reward all our players and give them fresh new experiences regardless of whether they choose to just play Warzone or also playing the premium game as well. So the connection will absolutely be there.
He notes that the Warzone will be tied into the game to allow for a joint experience regardless of playing with Call of Duty 2020, as a free to play Warzone player, or through Modern Warfare.
No additional information as to how that will work has been confirmed, but there’s more to come with Call of Duty 2020.
