Rankings explained

5. Cronen Squall

Cronen Squall Warzone
Great choice for long-range fights.

The Cronen Squall packs a devastating punch whether you decide to use its incredibly accurate semi-auto mode or its fully automatic form.

Unfortunately, MW2 weapons aren’t as smooth as MW3 weapons, but with the right build, the Cronen Squall is a more than viable option in the latest season of Warzone.

4. BAS-B

BAS-B Battle Rifle Warzone
Remains a popular weapon.

The BAS-B has been a solid pick ever since MW3 weapon was integrated into Warzone. This hard-hitting rifle provides great damage and easy-to-control recoil that you can reduce even further with the best build.

It was one of the most popular and best weapons to use back in Season 1, but has slowly dropped down the pecking order, finding itself at the number 4 spot. That said, if you have it completely leveled up, it’s still a great option for medium to long-range fights.

3. SOA Subverter

SOA Subverter Warzone
Still a great option.

Added in the Season 2 Reloaded update, the SOA Subverter took over the meta when it first arrived, but after subsequent nerfs to reduce its power, it now respectably sits at number 3 in our best Battle Rifles list.

It still hits hard and has a slower fire rate that makes it easier to hit shots and use at long range, but its TTK lets it down compared to the rifles above it in the list.

2. Sidewinder

Sidewinder Warzone
From zero to hero.

The Sidewinder was previously regarded as one of the worst weapons in Warzone when it was first brought to the game with MW3, but it’s now considered a meta medium-range option thanks to its high damage.

It can be hard to control, but if you’re able to deck it out with attachments to reduce its recoil and also master its pattern, you’ll be able to hit shots from range too. However, its strength lies in close to mid-range combat, taking enemies down with hard-hitting shots.

Best Battle Rifle in Warzone

MTZ-762 Warzone
Warzone’s best BR in Season 4 Reloaded.

The best Battle Rifle in Warzone is the MTZ-762, which feels like a long-ranged Assault Rifle. It hits hard, has fairly easy-to-control recoil, and thanks to Season 4 Reloaded buffs to its damage ranges, it can now perform extremely well at long-range.

I was able to get the most out of this weapon by using it just as I would an Assault Rifle. It has a fast fire rate for the weapon category too, making it more versatile than other options on the list.
