CoD players think they’ve found the perfect setting for Warzone 2.0 Resurgence map
The close-quarters action of Warzone’s Resurgence mode is extremely popular with players looking for a change of pace, and fans have picked out the ideal real-world location for a Resurgence map in Warzone 2.0.
Warzone 2.0 is set to arrive on November 16, kick-starting an exciting new era for the CoD battle royale. At the recent CoD Next event, fans finally got their first look at the sequel, and the new Al Mazrah map.
While the traditional BR mode is what Warzone is known for, Resurgence has grown into a popular option for those looking for a more forgiving experience, and the smaller maps like Rebirth Island and Fortune’s Keep have become fan favorites.
Although there’s no word yet on whether or not Warzone 2.0 will add a playlist similar to Resurgence, fans have already found the real-life location they want to see turned into a map.
Much like how the design of Rebirth Island was heavily influenced by Alcatraz Island, Reddit user Butterflychunks felt that Infinity Ward should look at Husoy in Norway for their next Resurgence map.
Husoy is a small fishing village covering an entire island off the coast of Northern Norway, and the OP believed it would be a “great inspiration” for a close-quarters map. Its snowy weather would make for a nice contrast to the deserts of Al Mazrah, and its lighthouse and dock areas could make for interesting POIs.
The one downside that the poster mentioned was the lack of a hub building to act as the centerpiece, like the prison on Rebirth Island.
The rest of the community clearly liked the idea of a Resurgence map based on Husoy, with many replying that they would be keen to see it implemented in Warzone 2.0. “That actually looks sick. Great idea! I would love to play on that,” said an excited fan.
Others pointed out that the island’s layout already lends itself to a great setting for a shooter, even before the developers put their spin on it.
“I actually would love the lack of a main building that people camp in the middle of the map,” said one reply. “Let snipers have that lighthouse in the corner and GG.”
“Looks like the elevation of the center of the island is enough to obstruct the lighthouse from the opposite side of the island. Good balance,” said another.
Although Infinity Ward haven’t made any announcements about Resurgence in Warzone 2.0, there’s a good chance that an alternative to Al Mazrah is in the works. Given the CoD series’ history of drawing from real locations in their maps, fans can hope that Husoy, or somewhere similar, has been used as inspiration.
