CoD: Warzone hack lets player bounce bullets off walls
Call of Duty: Warzone’s lack of an effective anti-cheat system is being discussed once more after a startling cheat was witnessed in Warzone Season 3. The hacker was able to ricochet their bullets off the floor without aiming at the player and kill them easily.
Despite repeated claims that Activision is “investing more in anti-cheat” measures, Warzone continues to be plagued by repeated instances of hacking and cheating. It was only recently that Warzone’s own devs said that “no one hates cheaters more than we do.”
But a bizarre new hack has surfaced on social media showing a player exploiting the battle royale shooter by killing a player without even aiming at them.
The unthinkable death occurred when Warzone streamer KRNG | RayTheGreat was unexpectedly gunned down without even having a chance to react.
In the clip shared on Twitter, the Duo tried to contend with a threat outside of the building they were stationed. Our streamer’s buddy gets downed when it appears that no one could possibly have seen him, and then our player got downed in even more suspicious circumstances.
When trying to meet face-to-face with their assailant, the player is already getting shot before they even turned the corner.
In the blink of an eye, they were downed and killed, with the evidence plain for all to see on the ensuing killcam footage.
Anticipating the presence of RayTheGreat, the hacker started firing into the middle of the room, and their bullets magically locked onto the player when they weren’t even visible.
Needless to say, the streamer’s reaction was one of complete bemusement, utter confusion, and anger. It’s an extremely worrying video as if there are lots of people doing this, then it makes most lobbies unwinnable for players who aren’t employing these hacking tactics.
Unlike exploitable glitches such as the recent unbreakable Gas Mask glitch or Superman jumping, this is hacking exposed in a big way, and Raven Software will surely have their eyes on this.
