FaZe Swagg claims HDR is now meta after Warzone Season 3 Sniper nerfs
Warzone pro FaZe Swagg has shared his opinion on which Sniper players should be picking following the Season 3 update, given the various changes to the weapon category.
Warzone Pacific Season 3 is finally here, and as well as getting used to the Caldera map changes, players are also still figuring out which weapons are meta after some major buffs and nerfs in the patch notes.
Thankfully, FaZe “Kris Lamberson” Swagg has already shared what he thinks is the best Sniper players should be using after the nerfs to the Kar98k and Swiss, which had previously dominated.
As the Warzone Pacific Season 3 update went live, we saw some pretty big changes for the Sniper weapon category.
In the patch, both the Kar98k and Swiss had their one-shot kill potential limited to their maximum damage range. This means that the only Snipers in the game that can now one-shot kill to the head from any range across Caldera and Rebirth Island would be the Heavy Snipers.
This includes Modern Warfare’s HDR, which FaZe Swagg claims is now the meta in a recent video. You can check out our guide on the best HDR loadout for Warzone Pacific Season 3 to get the most out of this Sniper.
FaZe Swagg states that the devs “nerfed the Kar and Swiss to the ground,” while buffing the HDR. Back when Warzone first dropped, Swagg said that the HDR was “meta, that’s all everyone used. Now it’s like almost reverting back to it.”
FaZe Swagg Warzone Season 3 HDR loadout
Seeing as “only the heavy Snipers can now one shot at any range,” FaZe Swagg feels the HDR is the best option.
In his recent video, Swagg managed to drop 31 kills with the HDR, which had the following attachments:
- Barrel: 26.9″ HDR Pro
- Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
- Laser: Tac Laser
- Stock: FTAC Stalker-Scout
- Perk: Focus
As the HDR is a heavy Sniper, you may want to pair it with a strong close-range SMG. Swagg runs the LAPA in the video, but perhaps the Welgun is more tuned to your playstyle.
