Frustrating Warzone glitch lets players get underground again
The notorious map clipping exploit on Rebirth Island has returned to Call of Duty: Warzone, with players abusing it to get underneath the map and take out their unsuspecting opponents.
Warzone fans are no strangers to strange glitches, as Rebirth Island was plagued by map-clipping exploits for months. Cheaters often took advantage of this, and Raven Software issued a fix for it in the Season 2 Reloaded update.
Despite this, the infamous glitch has returned, allowing players to sneak underneath the map close to the Chemical Engineering POI. Now, players are exploiting kill and loot without worrying about getting shot.
Reddit user MrMakaveli shared a clip of this exploit in the CoD: Warzone subreddit. It showcased the player in the midst of a battle at Decon Zone, and they got beamed to death by an unseen enemy as they were helping their teammate.
This left the player bewildered, as they had no idea how they had been killed. However, the kill cam then revealed that the enemy was underneath the ground, so there was no way for the player to see the attack coming.
While this exploit was supposed to have been fixed in the Season 2 Reloaded update, it was present in the clip which was posted on April 10, weeks after the update.
Although there’s no guarantee that this is the same map clipping exploit as before, it seems remarkably similar. The biggest indicator that they’re one and the same is the location that is seen in the clip.
The original wall-breach often happened at the corner of Chem Eng, which is near the Bioweapon Labs. The cheater in the video was very close to this location, at the northeastern corner of Rebirth Island.
At the time of writing, Raven Software’s Trello board hasn’t been updated with the exploit’s return, but we’ll keep checking for any new developments. Hopefully, they’ll come up with a permanent fix soon.
