How to win Warzone Verdansk ’84 Gulag: Tips and strategies guide
The latest Warzone update has brought the new Verdansk ’84 map and a new Gulag layout for players to battle out their intense 1v1s during Season 3.
In Warzone Season 3, players can finally experience Verdansk ’84, a reimagined version of the classic Warzone map set in the 1980s.
Along with this new map, a new Gulag is also present, which many dedicated Call of Duty players may recognize from Black Ops 2.
Standoff Gulag
For those unaware, the Gulag is where players fight for a second chance after their first elimination, which could either end in them dropping back into the map or being sent back to the lobby, depending on whether they win or those.
Warzone’s Gulag has been updated in the past, with the previous layout taking the form of the Black Ops series most popular map, Nuketown. In Call of Duty Warzone Season 3, the Gulag has taken the layout from fan-favorite Black Ops 2 map, Standoff. Check out the cinematic trailer below.
Although the layout is slightly different, taking on a smaller scale, it will still feel similar to those familiar with the Black Ops 2 map.
The new Warzone Verdansk ’84 Gulag is smaller than the previous Nuketown one, making for intense engagements. The Layout is taken from Standoff’s center, with the tank and building opposite each other.
If players take too long to battle it out, the flag will appear in the center of the map, next to the tank, and just past the wall outside the small building structure.
For those who aren’t aware, the building features a window that looks out on the opposite spawn but is aware as players can also come through the bottom floor or even a ladder at the back.
How to Win Verdansk ’84 Gulag
The best strategy so far seems to be getting to the top floor of the building, whatever side you start on. Be cautious, as both spawns have options to get to the top floor fairly quickly, and you could be staring right at someone as soon as you reach the top.
The top floor is a great spot to take as you can gain an advantage on the opponent if they decide to ignore the building and take the street route where the tank is. Further, the top floor also allows you to peak at the bottom of the building, catching out those opponents who want to sneak through.
It does seem a bit harder for spectators to see what’s going on in the Verdansk ’84 Gulag map, as the walls and building structures mean you might be having to look through the walkway floor to help your teammates with callouts.
