JGOD explains why Warzone needs to steal features from games like Apex Legends
Warzone Season 2’s Redeploy Balloon works almost identical to those found in Apex Legends, and YouTuber JGOD wishes Call of Duty directly copied more features from other games.
Warzone’s Caldera has been criticized for how difficult it is to traverse. Its steep hills, unclimbable rock faces, and POI’s at the edge of the map make getting around extremely difficult when the gas is at your back.
To help counter this, Warzone’s devs plucked the Redeploy Balloon right out of Apex Legends for Season 2. This works like a zipline, where players zip high into the air and then can glide through the air to quickly and safely travel across Caldera.
Liking the idea, YouTuber JGOD wishes Call of Duty copied more ideas from games such as Apex Legends.
Reacting to the Warzone and Vanguard Season 2 trailer, JGOD said that the Redeploy Balloons are “basically copy and pasted from Apex Legends and that’s okay.”
“I really wish Call of Duty would do more of that,” he explained, saying there have been so many instances where they tried to “reinvent the wheel.”
Instead, he wishes that if a feature is perfected, CoD devs just implement it as is. He said that it would be okay if they improved on it, “but they often don’t.”

The Redeploy Balloons aren’t the only thing that seems to be Apex Legends-inspired in Season 2, with the devs also adding Decontamination Stations. These act the same as Apex’s Heat Shields, which form a protective bubble that protects players from the closing ring.
JGOD wasn’t sure how powerful they’d be though, since your location is marked on the minimap for all to see.
Warzone Season 2 is expected to be a big shakeup for CoD’s battle royale format, with map changes coming to both Caldera and Rebirth Island.
