NICKMERCS claims Warzone 2.0 is “clunky,” slams “stupid” circle mechanics
Nick ‘NICKMERCS’ Kolcheff was one of the lucky few who got to play Warzone 2.0 early, but with “stupid” circle mechanics and a “clunky” feeling, he doesn’t have high hopes.
Call of Duty Next saw over 150 of the world’s top streamers and content creators fly to California to give us a first look at Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0.
With a new map named Al Mazrah, 2v2 Gulag fights, and the game’s interesting split circle mechanic that sees multiple shrinking play areas which merge together for the final fight, there are plenty of changes in the new iteration of CoD’s battle royale.
After getting the chance to try it, NICKMERCS was asked by his chat for his opinion on the game, and the FaZe Clan member was extremely honest in his review.
“Clunky. It felt very, very clunky,” he revealed. “People are talking about how it wasn’t a finished product and they’re going to make a lot of changes before we get to the [release] day in November. In my experience, when you play a beta, that’s pretty much the game.”
When a chat member mentioned the new zone split mechanics, the 31-year-old immediately responded: “So dumb. God, that thing is f**king stupid. Three zones combine into one, that was the stupidest sh*t I’ve ever played.”
Despite clearly disliking some of Warzone 2.0’s features, there were things from CoD Next he’s excited about. The streamer heaped praise on how Modern Warfare 2 felt, and was a big fan of the game’s third-person mode and the weapons.
With Warzone 2.0 still a few months away from release, it will be interesting to see if Infinity Ward listens to NICKMERCS and other streamers before the game’s November 16 release.
