Every Activision studio now working on Call of Duty as Toys for Bob joins Warzone team

Every Activision owned studio is now working on Call of Duty, either a support studio or a development studio on the franchise. Toys for Bob has officially joined the Call of Duty development world.

The Call of Duty franchise has seen various video game development studios work on the many titles that make up the high-profile series.

Call of Duty franchise started off with two main developers, including Infinity Ward and Treyarch. The roster slowly expanded to include many more, including Raven Software and Sledgehammer Games.

Toys for Bob Warzone

Now, the final studio under the Activision umbrella that was not working on Call of Duty has officially announced that it will be providing support for the future development of Warzone.

Toys for Bob took to their Twitter account on April 29, 2021, and announced that it is supporting the development of Call of Duty: Warzone in Season 3 and is looking forward to more to come, hinting that Toys for Bob will be a support studio for the Call of Duty battle royale in future seasons.

Toys for Bob has been developing games since 1992, with the studio’s first game being Star Control II. The studio is also known for its development of the popular Skylanders franchise and most recently developed the Spyro Reignited Trilogy released in 2018.

Following the announcement from Toys for Bob, there had been reports circulating that layoffs had been conducted at the studio. However, a statement from Activision explained that these reports were not accurate.

“Reports of layoffs at Toys For Bob are incorrect. There has not been a reduction in personnel recently at the studio. The development team is operating fully and has a number of full-time job openings at this time. The studio is excited to continue supporting Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, and more recently provide additional development support to Call of Duty: Warzone,” said an Activision spokesperson.

A reporter for VGC now says that “every” Activision studio is working on Call of Duty.

Toys for Bob is owned by Activision Publishing. They now join Raven Software, Infinity Ward, Treyarch, High Moon Studios, Beenox, Activision Shanghai, Sledgehammer Games, and Demonware working on the Call of Duty franchise. This marks every Activision studio working on Call of Duty.

With another studio now supporting Call of Duty: Warzone, it seems the sky is the limit for what the community can expect to see from the first-person shooter in future seasons.
