Warzone 2 new Gulag

Not only does Warzone 2 bring an entirely new map, weapons, and mechanics but the Gulag is getting a major shakeup in CoD’s battle royale sequel. Here’s how the brand-new Gulag works including 2v2 fights, lootable weapons, and the Jailer.

Warzone immediately set itself apart from other battle royale games by including the Gulag, a 1v1 arena where eliminated players fight it out for the chance to return to the fight. There have been several Gulag maps since Warzone launched, but the mode is getting a major change with November 16’s Warzone 2

New Warzone 2 details are being unveiled prior to launch as players get set to experience the brand-new Al Mazrah map. The Call of Duty team revealed the new Gulag with its 2v2 fights, lootable weapons, and the Jailer.

Once a player dies in Warzone 2, they’re sent to the new Gulag so here’s everything you need to know.

Warzone 2 Gulag 2 vs 2 fights

Unique to Warzone 2, the Gulag will be fought 2v2 where you will form “a temporary alliance” with an enemy player. Plus, you’ll also be able to use the Proximity Chat feature to chat with your temporary teammate.

It will likely take some time for players to get accustomed to the new Gulag dynamic, so it’s best to make the most of your chances at redeploying.

Who is the Jailer in Warzone 2 Gulag?

Warzone 2 will also deliver the new Jailer figure that appears in the Gulag. During your 2 vs 2 fight in the Gulag, a Jailer will drop down to a circular platform within the Gulag and intervene after enough time has elapsed.

The Jailer will not only have increased health, but they’ll have a fully operational Minigun that could prove to be devastating in the compact space.

In a new twist, eliminating the Jailer will result in the redeployment of all four Operators in the Gulag, but more on that below.

Lootable weapons in Warzone 2 Gulag

This new Gulag sounds similar to Modern Warfare’s Gunfight OSP mode where players start with the bare minimum and pick up the weapons scattered on the ground.

“All players will receive a predefined Loadout — at launch, this will be a Pistol or Shotgun, a Lethal Grenade, and a Tactical Grenade — with highly effective weaponry and gear placed toward the center.”

If you’re looking to eliminate your opponents, the race for superior weaponry will be vital in Warzone 2.

How to win Warzone 2 Gulag & redeploy

To earn redeployment from the Gulag in Warzone 2, players can either eliminate the opposition or eliminate the Jailer.

Eliminating the Jailer is a new strategy in Warzone 2 and it could prove beneficial for Gulag Operators who use the new Proximity Chat to agree on a cease-fire. As previously mentioned, eliminating the Jailer will result in all four Operators redeploying to Al Mazrah, and working together can get the job done efficiently.

Of course, this does require a level of trust that’s usually absent from intense Gulag scenarios.
