Warzone 2 devs confirm AI coming to Plunder in Season 3
The popular Plunder game mode from the first Warzone finally returns in Season 3 of Warzone 2, and the developers have revealed that players will be able to battle AI enemies in this mode.
The Season 3 update features a ton of fun new content for Warzone 2 players to check out, including the Intervention, one-shot Sniper Rifles, as well as the new Valeria and Alejandro Operators.
One of the most exciting additions set for the mid-season update is the return of the fan-favorite Plunder game mode from the first Warzone. The Warzone 2 version of Plunder has a ton of changes, including new types of enemies.
In an official blog post that breaks down everything players should expect from the game mode in Warzone 2, the developers confirmed the presence of AI combatants that players will be able to battle.
They will most likely be found around Al Mazrah’s Black Sites and Strongholds. Defeating these AI enemies will allow players to collect Trophies that can then be banked at a Buy Station during the Trophy Hunt event.
Warzone 2 first received AI combatants in the Escape from Tarkov-inspired DMZ mode, and these enemies became infamous for being extremely difficult to defeat, with many players slamming their addition to the game.
AI combatants were also added to Resurgence, and the Warzone 2 community expressed their concern that these enemies would ruin Ashika Island. The developers then ended up removing them in Season 2 Reloaded.
It remains to be seen if the AI enemies in Warzone 2’s Plunder will also be seen as extremely overpowered by players. The developers have made it clear that taking these foes down will be a source of rewards in the game mode.
