A Warzone 2 update on May 31 has finally nerfed the Cronen Squall and ISO Hemlock, two of the most broken weapons that dominated Season 3 Reloaded.

The Warzone 2 meta has seen major transformations throughout Season 3 Reloaded following the buffs and nerfs in various updates.

With players taking to Warzone 2 Ranked Play, using the best weapons in the game is more important than ever. When it comes to long-range weapons, the ISO Hemlock and Cronen Squall have been two of the most popular.

However, that could change following a Warzone 2 update on May 31 that nerfed both of the weapons. Let’s take a look at what the nerfs entail as the meta gets set to shift prior to the Warzone 2 Season 4 update.

ISO Hemlock & Cronen Squall nerfed in Warzone 2 update

Unfortunately for Warzone 2 players who preferred to utilize the popular ISO Hemlock and Cronen Squall, both the Assault Rifle and Battle Rifle were nerfed on May 31.

For starters, the Cronen Squall nerf seems to be quite a major one with the following attributes adjusted:

  • Reduced damage range
  • Reduced headshot multiplier
  • Small increase to recoil in semi auto mode
  • Small reduction to rate of fire in semi auto mode
  • Reduced maximum damage per shot against armor | Warzone 2.0 Only

While the nerf to its damage profile is sure to hurt the weapon’s viability, the nerfs to its semi auto mode are quite concerning as well. The Cronen Squall has been a top weapon in Warzone 2 Ranked Play, and many pro players suggested using the weapon in its semi auto mode for added precision.

Meanwhile, the ISO Hemlock’s nerf consists of “Reduced damage to armor using all 5.56 ammunition.” It may not seem like a major nerf, but the 5.56 ammunition attachment was a popular choice on the best ISO Hemlock loadouts.

In addition, this isn’t the first time we see an ISO Hemlock nerf in Warzone 2. The Assault Rifle has been on the receiving end of nerfs since its arrival in Season 2.

It’ll be interesting to see how this impacts the Warzone 2 meta. Perhaps the Lachmann-556 or Kastov 762 will emerge as the big winners ahead of Season 4. We’ll keep you up to date as the meta develops.
