Warzone 2 expert transforms game’s “worst gun” into top-tier Assault Rifle
Warzone 2 features plenty of weapons that have been largely forgotten by the community in favor of the meta options. But CoD guru Sally is a Dog has revealed a loadout that transforms Warzone 2’s “worst gun” into a viable choice in Season 3.
Players are spoilt for choice when it comes to weapons in Warzone 2 Season 3, from deadly close-range SMGs to Sniper Rifles capable of one-shotting players at a distance. But not all of Warzone 2’s weapons are created equally, and there a certain picks that have failed to make a dent.
While the likes of the Kastov 762 and Vaznev-9k consistently rank as the most popular guns in the game, other options like the Crossbow or 556 Icarus have been left to rot at the bottom of the leaderboard.
Another one of these is the classic M16, which many believe to be the least effective Assault Rifle in Warzone 2, and one of the worst guns in the whole game. However, Warzone 2 expert Sally is a Dog has put together a loadout that could change its fortunes.
In a recent upload to his channel, the YouTuber claimed that while the M16 is one of the least popular weapons in Warzone 2, with a pick rate of just 0.2% on WZ Ranked, that doesn’t mean it can’t be a strong pick.
“This is the worst gun in the game, the M16, or at least it was,” he explained. “It’s a burst fire AR that has a lot of recoil, but a lot of potential as well.”
Check out Sally is a Dog’s best M16 loadout in Warzone 2 Season 3 below.
Sally is a Dog’s best M16 loadout in Warzone 2
- Muzzle: Sakin Tread-40
- Barrel: 14″ Carbine Shroud
- Optic: SZ Recharge-DX
- Rear Grip: Support CP90 Grip
- Underbarrel: FTAC Ripper
Sally is a Dog began his M16 loadout with the Sakin Tread-40 and 14″ Carbine Shroud barrel, as these both offer huge recoil control buffs to keep the Assault Rifle on target, while also improving the bullet velocity.
Next up, he added the FTAC Ripper and Support CP90 Grip for better aiming stability, allowing players to stay accurate while quickly unleashing multiple bursts in rapid succession.
Finally, he went for the SZ Recharge-DX for a precise optic that offers greater visibility than the meta AIM OP-V4.
After testing this build in Warzone 2 matches, the YouTuber claimed that it performed “so much better than expected,” as he was able to win multiple gunfights against players using meta Assault Rifles.
So, if you’re looking for a new AR ahead of Warzone 2 Season 3 Reloaded, don’t sleep on the M16 despite its reputation.
