Activision confirms Warzone inventory will not transfer to Warzone 2
Activision have confirmed details concerning how the release of Warzone 2 will affect its predecessor.
Modern Warfare 2 has officially been revealed, and while many are excited for the new Campaign mode, the prospect of Warzone 2 is getting battle royale fans extremely hyped.
With a new engine, map, and more, some players are confused as to how the progression from Warzone will carry over to Warzone 2. Luckily, Activision have confirmed the details for this, and we have all the information.
Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 will drop in 2022, just after the release of Modern Warfare 2. Warzone 2 is described as “an extension of the Modern Warfare II universe” in the Call of Duty blog.
The brand-new Warzone will feature “new Modern Warfare II content and systems with brand-new progression and inventories.”
With that being said, it’s clear that Warzone 2 will be a completely separate game from Warzone. Think of Warzone 2 as a clean slate, this includes cosmetics, level, weapons, etc.
This means that Warzone players moving to Warzone 2 will not have their cosmetics, stats, or anything associated with Warzone. This is a brand-new game, meaning a fresh start for all players.
For those who may still want to enjoy Warzone, don’t worry, as it will continue to function separately from Warzone 2. This means that the game will still be live for players to jump on and enjoy, but it will likely receive fewer updates and content than Warzone 2.
Activision also hinted at a new mode, which we believe could be the leaked DMZ mode, check out everything we know about the leaked DMZ mode for more details.
