Las Almas Warzone 2 map: Leaked release date, POIs & more
ActivisionLeaks have revealed that Warzone 2 will be getting a brand-new battle royale map alongside MW3 called Las Almas, which is set to be a change of pace from Al Mazrah. Here’s everything we know about the rumored Warzone 2 Las Almas map so far, including the leaked release date.
Since Warzone 2 arrived back in November, players have spent their time on Al Mazrah, the desert map that features a number of classic CoD 6v6 maps as POIs. Resurgence’s Ashika Island and Vondel were added later, but Al Mazrah has remained the backdrop for both battle royale and the DMZ mode.
On May 11, a major leak revealed that CoD 2023 will be titled Modern Warfare 3, but it also shed some light on a new Warzone 2 map called Las Almas. Recently, on July 25, leaks revealed new details about the movement and design of the reportedly next Warzone map.
Here’s everything we know so far about the Warzone 2 Las Almas map, from how it could look to the leaked release date.
Warzone 2 Las Almas leaked release date
According to the leak from Insider Gaming, Warzone 2’s Las Almas will launch in Modern Warfare 3 Season 1, which will reportedly get underway on December 5, 2023. This would be just under a month after MW3’s alleged release date which the leak claimed was November 10.
Of course, this is all based on leaked information that has yet to be confirmed by the developers themselves, so there’s every chance that the schedule could change. We’ll be sure to update this section with any details as soon as they’re revealed.
Warzone 2 Las Almas map explained
We first got word of a Las Almas battle royale map for Warzone 2 during the Modern Warfare 2 campaign. The mission El Sin Nombre took place in the Mexican region of Las Almas, and players quickly found a map of the area lying on a table.
Many speculated that it looks typically like a battle royale map that would suit Warzone 2, and the leak from Insider Gaming seems to corroborate that it will be the follow-up to Al Mazrah.
According to content creator Metaphor, the Las Almas map will not include a central high-rise area, as with Vanguard’s Caldera, and will instead have “tons of buildings and points of interest,” similar to Verdansk, the game’s most beloved and popular map.
In the MW2 campaign, the location featured many populated areas, mountainous sections, and even rivers to help with traversal, and according to the creator’s description, the map wouldn’t be immensely inspired by the location featured in the campaign.
Although it’s expected that the Las Almas map could replace Al Mazrah in Warzone, much like Caldera did Verdansk, nothing has been confirmed yet, enabling the possibility that the two maps could be part of a rotation similar to Apex Legends.
Warzone 2 Las Almas POIs
As Warzone 2’s Las Almas is yet to be officially revealed, we don’t currently no any of the POIs or locations set to feature on the map. However, as it’s set in the same Mexican region, it’s safe to assume that the Mercado Las Almas map from Modern Warfare 2 will make up one section.
Following Metaphor’s leaks, the map could also feature both Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare’s Countdown and the original Modern Warfare 3’s Overwatch map. It looks like the developers will include classic COD maps as they have done before in their battle royale designs, so fans can expect to see more familiar locations around Las Almas.
That is everything we know about Las Almas in Warzone so far, we’ll be sure to update this page as soon as we know more.
