Warzone 2 & Modern Warfare 2 devs confirm date for AMD VEGA crash fix
Many Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 players have been unable to play Season 3 since launch due to an issue with AMD VEGA hardware, but the devs have finally confirmed a fix.
Despite offering exciting new content, Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 Season 3 was a huge disappointment for those with AMD VEGA hardware, as it ultimately made the game unplayable on PC.
Players experiencing the issue, which causes the game to crash upon booting up the application, have mostly been kept in the dark when it comes to a timescale for a fix.
Some in the community even sent the devs an SOS pizza to try and get their attention, wanting some more communication about the issue. There has been a lot of frustration in the community, especially considering the crashes have been present since April 12.
AMD VEGA users have been unable to experience the Season 3 update for both Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2, which is obviously a huge deal. While players who have been met by the bug will be incredibly dissatisfied, the devs have confirmed that a fix will be arriving in the Season 3 Reloaded update.
On May 8, 2023, Beenox stated that “addressing this issue has taken longer than expected, but the fix will be in the next Season 03 Reloaded updated for both #MW11 and #Warzone2 (May 10th).”
This is a great relief to many, as many players in the comments are happy about the arrival of the fix. However, some are still dissatisfied with how long it has taken them to resolve the issue, as one comment said “wooooo glad there’s a fix but really sucks missing out on the past 3+ weeks.”
The Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 Season 3 Reloaded update is set to be released on May 10, so players experiencing this issue should be able to download the new patch and finally play the game again.
