Warzone 2 & Modern Warfare 2 leak reveals popular game modes set to return
According to a new Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 leak, a series of classic game modes are due to be added to both games in a future update.
Both Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 are packed full of different modes for fans to enjoy, no matter their preferred playstyle. Battle royale players can opt for the full-scale action of Al Mazrah, or the more frantic, close-quarters gameplay of Ashika Island.
Meanwhile, on the multiplayer side of things, there are plenty of different game types to choose from, with new options being added all the time through weekly playlist updates and fan votes.
However, there are still a handful of popular modes that are missing from both games, but a new leak has hinted that they could be arriving later down the line.
Dataminer reveals classic modes coming to Modern Warfare 2 & Warzone 2
CoD dataminer BKTOOR shared an image featuring a number of logos representing modes set to come to Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 in the future.
We already know that Plunder is due to arrive in Warzone 2 Season 3 at the earliest, and the leaker hinted that we could see all squad sizes from Solos up to Quads. Whether all these playlists will be live at the same time, or rotated like Resurengce at the start of Season 2, remains to be seen.
The last Warzone 2 mode mentioned was Warzone Ranked, which the devs announced will arrive in “Season 3 and beyond” alongside the Season 2 update.
The second line of leaked icons revealed a handful of Modern Warfare 2 game modes that could arrive in the coming weeks and months. While Gunfight is confirmed for Season 3, the dataminer revealed that fan favorites Demolition and Capture the Flag are also on the way.
Capture the Flag is a staple of the FPS genre, tasking players with picking up a flag from the center of the map and returning it to their team’s base to score points.
Meanwhile, Demolition is a more forgiving version of Seach and Destroy where respawns are enabled and any player can plant the bomb. It was incredibly popular when it arrived in the original Modern Warfare 2, but hasn’t appeared since The Resistance event in CoD WWII.
Sadly, the leaker didn’t share when the unannounced modes could arrive in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2, but fans will be hoping to see them added sooner rather than later.
