Warzone 2 one-shot glitch makes underrated rifle the game’s “best Sniper”
ActivisionWhile only a handful of Warzone 2 Sniper Rifles are supposed to have one-shot capabilities, a glitch is allowing a forgotten rifle to kill enemies with a single bullet, currently making it the “best Sniper” in the game.
Sniper Rifles are a popular choice in Warzone 2, giving players the chance to pick off enemies at a distance before they have time to land a shot. But the battle royale sequel launched back in November, many fans felt that Snipers were underpowered.
That all changed in Warzone 2 Season 3 when the devs gave certain Sniper Rifles the ability to one-shot. This allowed heavy hitters like the MCPR 300 and Intervention equipped with explosive rounds to down players with a single headshot, while more mobile options were left requiring two shots.
However, a new Warzone 2 glitch has given the SP-X 80 one-shot potential, and players think it could have a drastic effect on the meta for the time being. This ability to instantly knock players paired with the Sniper’s superior mobility and ADS speed compared to other guns in its class makes for a deadly combination, especially in Resurgence.
After the community became aware of the glitch, Reddit user ‘lostinmymind‘ explained the SP-X 80 gives them “Kar98/Swiss K32 vibes,” largely due to how effective it is at quickscoping. Meanwhile, CoD guru FaZe Testy called it “the best Sniper in Warzone” in their recent YouTube upload.
How to make the SP-X 80 one-shot in Warzone 2 Season 4
Equipping the SP-X 80 with .300 Incendiary Rounds allows it to one-shot enemies in Warzone 2 Season 4. However, it only appears to be effective up to around 50 meters, making it far more effective on Vondel or Ashika Island.
It isn’t entirely clear what caused the issue, but it seems that Incendiary Rounds are currently doing slightly more damage than intended, meaning they can down a fully-plated enemy a couple of seconds after a headshot is landed at certain ranges.
The SP-X 80 was one of the lesser-used Sniper Rifles in Warzone 2, with a pick rate of just 0.2% on WZRanked. But the longer this glitch goes on, don’t be surprised to see it become much more popular.
The devs are yet to comment on the issue but don’t be surprised to see it resolved quickly in an effort to keep the Sniper Rifle meta balanced.
