Warzone 2 players baffled as Armor Piercing Rounds no longer do what they’re meant to
Warzone 2 players are extremely confused by a change made to one of the attachments in the game, as it now no longer does what it’s supposed to do.
Warzone 2 received an update on November 22, bringing audio improvements, major bug fixes, and a secret change to the DMZ.
The update also brought an odd change to one of the game’s attachments, which has left many players confused.
The Armor Piercing Ammunition attachment in Warzone 2 is meant to add a damage multiplier against armored opponents. The attachment takes up a slot in the Ammunition section of the Gunsmith, but following the November 22 update, players may want to stay away from it.
In the patch notes for the November 22 update, the devs decided to remove the Armor Piercing Ammunition’s damage multiplier against armored opponents, which has left the community baffled.
Reddit user kefefs highlighted this strange change on the Modern Warfare 2 subreddit, sarcastically saying “AP ammo no longer pierces [armor]. GG Activision.”
Some in the comments are equally confused, with one comment comically saying that the attachment is now “just Ammo,” rather than Armor Piercing Ammunition, and another saying that it’s now “useless.”
The community are obviously confused, with many asking “what does it actually do then?” Some in the comments have pointed out that the attachment will continue to do extra damage against vehicles and Killstreaks in Warzone 2.
Many feel this isn’t enough, commenting “yea that’s dumb. if someone wants to use an attachment slot on AP ammo they should get more than a niche benefit from it.”
We’ll have to wait and see what the devs do about the Armor Piercing Ammunition in the future, but for future updates on balance changes such as this, stay tuned on CharlieIntel and check out how to equip three guns in Warzone 2 for more.
