Warzone 2 players call for major change to DMZ’s “tedious” key system
The Warzone 2 community feels that the DMZ mode’s key system is extremely “tedious” and is calling for the developers to make a major change that will resolve this issue.
Warzone 2 brought a plethora of fun new content for Call of Duty players to enjoy upon its release, including the Escape From Tarkov-inspired DMZ mode that focuses on looting and completing objectives.
You can find keys in this mode, and these can be used to open up locked Caches and doors that are located across the Al Mazrah map. However, players are frustrated with the current state of the key system.
Reddit user ‘encheezo’ shared an image of the different keys available in Warzone 2’s DMZ mode, including the Art Museum key, and expressed their frustration with how difficult it is to find the right loot stash for each key.
The Redditor explained: “It would be much more exciting to load into DMZ with a key or loot a key if we knew exactly where the loot stash was. It should glow on the minimap or something.”
Keys can be found all over Al Mazrah in chests, duffle bags, and lockers, as well as in enemies’ backpacks and AQ Soldiers. However, Warzone 2 players feel that the developers should make it easier to find keys and access the right loot stashes.
One user replied: “It’s beyond tedious combing over every building and toolbox looking for the right one. I’ve looked up precise locations online, and sometimes I still question whether it’s this boring building on the left or its identical copy 30 feet to the right.”
This player then elaborated that they don’t use the keys outside of faction missions. Many of the commenters agreed with this sentiment, with one of them explaining: “I honestly don’t pay much attention to the keys yet. I’m still learning the map.”
Another user sarcastically stated: “No way, I love pulling up my phone to check where the key goes. It’s super fun and not a waste of my time.” At the time of writing, it remains to be seen if the devs will respond to this criticism.
