Warzone 2 Ranked Play to combat cheaters with minimum level requirement
As a preventative measure against cheaters, Warzone 2 Ranked Play will implement a minimum level restriction that players must reach to access the competitive experience.
With Warzone 2 Season 3 Reloaded finally introducing Warzone 2 Ranked Play, players are excited to dive into the new competitive battle royale experience. Modern Warfare 2 Ranked Play was a major success, and Warzone fans are hopeful that the same could be said for the battle royale.
While MW2 Ranked Play garnered a generally positive reception, it hasn’t been without its hiccups. Most notably, cheaters have infested the competitive mode, especially within the top Skill Divisions.
Both Warzone 2 Ranked Play and Modern Warfare 2 Ranked Play utilize RICOCHET anti-cheat to detect and stamp out cheaters. However, the fight between RICOCHET and cheaters is a never-ending one, as new software is constantly put to the test.
Luckily, the Warzone 2 devs have implemented a strict minimum level restriction for Ranked Play, with the goal of combating cheaters.
Warzone 2 Ranked Play minimum level requirement
To access Warzone 2 Ranked Play, you must be at least level 45. The idea behind this strict level requirement is to allow RICOCHET the time to identify and ban any potential cheaters.
When it comes to Warzone 2, cheaters are often seen using new accounts. As ModernWarzone pointed out, “it takes roughly 20 hours for someone to get a new account from level 1 to level 45.”
Hopefully, the level 45 restriction will give RICOCHET enough time to stamp out any cheaters within their first 20 hours of playing Warzone 2.
It remains to be seen if this strategy will effectively limit the number of cheaters in Warzone 2 Ranked Play, with players pointing out that it may lead to cheaters purchasing aged accounts.
Nonetheless, the enforced method makes it clear that the devs are hoping to maintain competitive integrity in Warzone 2 Ranked Play.
