Warzone 2’s massive file size has leaked
Warzone 2 is right around the corner, and while many are excited to get stuck into the evolution of Call of Duty’s battle royale, the community has been left shocked by its file size.
Modern Warfare 2 Season 1 is set to arrive on November 16, bringing new maps for multiplayer, new weapons, and the launch of Warzone 2.
While a lot of hype surrounding Warzone 2 Season 1 concerns gameplay and the new DMZ mode, some players are more interested in the specifics. As Warzone 2 will be available on both generations of consoles and PC, it has left many wondering how demanding it will be compared to its predecessor.
This also begs the question of how much larger will it be in terms of data, especially as towards the end of the original Warzone‘s seasonal content, the game reached way over 100 GB.
According to ALumia_Italia on Twitter, the size of Warzone 2 has appeared on the “Xbox Store’s backend,” clocking in at 115 GB.
This has led to interesting player reactions, seeing as it’s a pretty big game, especially for those with smaller system storages on the older generation of consoles.
One comment under the CharlieIntel Twitter post reads “Gonna need to delete the wedding photos to download this bad boy. Rip.”
The 115 GB of storage needed for Warzone 2 comes on top of the storage needed for Modern Warfare 2, which is already way over 100 GB. This means that players will need over 200 GB of free space to have both Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 installed on their system.
Warzone 2 is likely to get even bigger as the seasons go on, with more and more content being added to the game. The next big content update following Season 1 will be the Season 1 Reloaded update.
