Warzone devs confirm fix for frustrating lighting issues
Warzone’s Season 3 update gave Verdansk an 80s-themed makeover, but this created some frustrating new lighting issues, which caught the attention of Raven Software, who’ve promised a fix.
With Warzone Season 3 well underway, players have the opportunity to explore the various new map changes in Verdansk ’84. Part of the new aesthetic is a vastly different color pallet, but this has caused some issues.
The new lighting systems don’t work well with the color pallet, and many players have reported a frustrating glare that’s been causing headaches. Now, the devs have assured fans that they’re working on it.
Activision sent out an accessibility survey in which they asked players about their biggest complaints about the game. Various players pointed out that the new lighting and color pallet was causing problems for them.
The glare is most notable when heading outside from an indoor location. Many players have reported having headaches as they adjusted to the change, and this hasn’t gone unnoticed by the developers.
“We’ve been monitoring this closely,” Raven Software confirmed. They’re aware of the problem, and have reassured fans that they “plan on addressing it in an upcoming update.”
The developers didn’t provide us with any specifics about how exactly they would change up the Warzone lighting. Still, we can expect them to tweak it so that players don’t develop headaches after short periods of time, which is certainly something no developer wants happening to players who are spending their time playing the games they are working on.
Aside from this, the survey also covered an improved in-game text chat and better audio options for Warzone in Season 3. There has also been some weapon nerfs in the latest update.
Raven Software and Activision have many more additions planned for Season 3 of the Call of Duty battle royale game, including the addition of 80s action hero Rambo and the new CARV.2 Tactical Rifle in the new Verdansk.
