Warzone devs finally nerf STG44 in June 2 patch notes
After community unrest with the STG44 in Warzone Pacific Season 3 Reloaded, the devs have finally nerfed the dominant Assault Rifle in the June 2 update.
The STG44 has dominated the meta in Warzone Pacific Season 3 Reloaded, especially as Vanguard weapons were heavily buffed in the update, leaving the other weapons in the dust.
Many players have recently been frustrated with the limited meta, even claiming that it is broken. The community have been calling for the STG44 to be nerfed, claiming the weapon is overpowered. Luckily, the June 2 patch for Warzone has done exactly that.
Warzone STG44 nerf
The devs decided to nerf the STG44 after it has been absolutely dominating the meta in Warzone Pacific Season 3.
The STG44 has been destroying from mid to long-range despite the health increase across Warzone, so the devs have decided to nerf the weapon’s Max Damage Range.
Assault Rifle Alpha (VG)
- Max Damage Range decreased to 27.9 meters, down from 30.1 meters
Although this nerf seems pretty minor, it could make a big difference to its overall TTK at range, which is where the weapon has been excelling. The weapon has been particularly strong due to its easy-to-control recoil, meaning its fast TTK is easier to hit as players miss fewer shots.
With that being said, maybe the recoil needs to be nerfed if the weapon continues to dominate after this patch. We’ll keep a close eye on the weapon and how it performs after this nerf, including the community’s reaction.
