Warzone devs respond to broken Gulag audio in Season 5
Warzone players have been furious that there’s no audio in Season 5’s Gulag, but the developers, Raven Software, have responded to the frustrating issue.
Warzone Pacific Season 5 acts as a send-off for Call of Duty as we know it, with it being the final season ahead of both Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 later this year. To celebrate, they’ve brought back classic villains and weapons from past Call of Dutys, but that’s not all.
There’s a ton of nostalgia towards Verdansk and its classic showers Gulag, and Raven brought back the 1v1 arena with a volcanic-themed overhaul. While players love the simplicity, severe audio issues have gotten in the way, prompting a response from the devs.
Audio has long been a complaint for Warzone players — especially in the Gulag, where every audio cue matters. However, players were quick to notice that Season 5 has brought a unique issue in that there’s no footstep or equipment audio, and spectators can be heard loud and clear once again.
Raven Software responded on August 26, confirming that “We are investigating an issue with missing Gulag audio.” The Trello card, which states that “Players will notice that some Gulag audio is not present,” is still marked under ‘Investigating’ with no update on when a fix might be implemented.
The next (and perhaps final) round of major updates and changes will come with Season 5 Reloaded, but Raven should be looking to have this issue fixed long before the mid-Season update.
While there’s no word yet, we’ll be sure to keep you updated if Raven Software confirm a date or drop the fix for the Gulag’s frustrating audio issues.
