Warzone Mobile job listing suggests the game will have ‘lucky draw’ loot box features
A Call of Duty: Warzone for Mobile job listing has revealed that the game may give players the opportunity to gamble for cosmetics with loot boxes.
Warzone has been a massive success for Call of Duty, and now they want to bring the experience to Mobile so that handheld gamers can enjoy the battle royale.
With Warzone 2 in the works for PC and console, Warzone for Mobile has a separate development team. The team are still hiring, and it seems a job listing for a Content Designer may have given away that the game will have loot boxes.
Solid State Studio is the development team behind Warzone for Mobile, and while some thought it may be taking over CoD Mobile, it is actually set to be its own stand-alone mobile title.
Just like Warzone, the mobile version will also contain seasonal content and cosmetics for players to either earn or purchase. The team are still looking for employees who could help in that department, and a job application for a Content Designer may have given away some exclusive information.
In the job listing, it states that the candidate “will bring the unique narrative, characters, and weapons to life through the design of seasonal themes, assets for battle pass, battle crates, lucky draws, holiday content, and other events.“
The key term in here is “luck draws,” which are the loot box-style luck-based system for cosmetics.
These Lucky Draws were how players had to unlock the Snoop Dogg Operator. This loot box system has received a lot of criticism in the past, but it seems they will be going with it for Warzone on Mobile.
We’ll have to wait and see how accurate this is when more information is released, but for now check out the leaked Warzone Mobile Verdansk gameplay.
