Warzone player discovers broken Apex Legends movement tech in Season 5
A Warzone Pacific Season 5 player has found new movement tech that is very reminiscent of Respawn’s battle royale, Apex Legends.
Apex Legends is known for its movement techniques such as wall bouncing, tap strafing, and super gliding.
On the other hand, Warzone is known for its tactical and patient gameplay, but there are movement techniques such as slide canceling that can help you get around faster.
While Infinity Ward haven’t confirmed the presence of slide canceling in Modern Warfare 2, Warzone Pacific Season 5 players are finding new movement tech, despite the game being taken over by Warzone 2 in the not-so-distant future.
Warzone content creator STZx20 highlighted the new movement tech on Twitter, saying “new warzone movement tech *NEVER SEEN BEFORE*.”
While it’s true that nothing like this has been seen in Warzone before, at least not by the majority of players, Apex Legends players recognized similarities with movement tech in Respawn’s battle royale.
In the clip, the player can be seen manipulating the parachute to negate fall damage and move through the air with low gravity. This allows them to pull off some pretty impressive plays, bamboozling players with an air strafe before landing and eliminating them.
Apex Legends content creator and movement professional Mokeysniper picked up on this clip, reacting by saying “they figured out how to Superglide/Air strafe and turn down gravity all at once in Warzone lol.”
While the similarities to Apex are definitely prevalent, some in the comments are making it clear that CoD has had a “strafe jump” since MW2. However, the movements in the Warzone clip are much more enhanced than a MW2 strafe jump, leading to its comparison to the movements seen in Apex.
It’s unclear how exactly players are able to perform this “new warzone movement tech,” but it seems they aren’t the only ones, as many in the comments have also “known about this for a while.”
