Warzone players slam devs for forcing Vanguard weapons into game’s meta
Warzone Pacific players are upset that the Season 3 Reloaded update has nerfed many Cold War and Modern Warfare guns while buffing the Vanguard weapons.
The Warzone Pacific Season 3 Reloaded update features a plethora of changes for the Call of Duty battle royale title, including a HUD overhaul, as well as a major health buff in Rebirth Island.
This new update also brought balancing changes in the form of buffs and nerfs to many of Warzone’s existing guns. However, players are frustrated that a large number of buffs went to Vanguard’s weapons.
When Warzone’s Season 3 Reloaded update went live, Vanguard weapons like the BAR and NZ-41 received significant buffs while Cold War guns like the Milano 821 and the OTs 9 were nerfed.
Reddit user ‘LeBradyyy’ pointed out that although the Season 3 Reloaded update buffed 15 Vanguard weapons, it brought major nerfs to 10 Cold War guns as well as 6 from Modern Warfare.
The Redditor was upset that the developers are attempting to push Vanguard weapons into the meta, declaring in the caption: “I don’t want to buy Vanguard!” Many of the commenters shared this sentiment.
One user wrote: “It’s proof that weapon changes have never been about trying to actually balance things. It’s only ever been about setting the meta.” Another player implied that these changes were unnecessary as the meta was “in a really good shape just recently.”
A few users claimed that Vanguard’s weapons have not been effective in Warzone since the Season 3 health buff. One commenter stated: “Besides the Bren and the SMGs, all the VG guns have been inferior, especially with the 50 added health.”
While this may be disappointing to players who frequently use the nerfed Modern Warfare and Cold War weapons, it’s worth keeping in mind that the developers implement frequent updates to the game. So, we might see these weapons get buffs before the season ends.
