Warzone pro Aydan calls for Airstrikes to be removed after WSOW player killed through wall
Controversy struck the WSOW after an Airstrike killed a player through a wall, and now Warzone pro Aydan Conrad is calling for the killstreak to be removed.
Warzone 2 is set to be revealed at the Call of Duty Next event on September 15. Despite a rumored release date of November 16, players have continued to enjoy everything Warzone Pacific Season 5 has to offer.
The final season of Warzone as we know it brought some highly requested quality of life changes to the game, such as the Gas Mask toggle feature. However, players believe other issues are still plaguing the game, and Warzone pro Aydan was vocal about one of them during the WSOW.
All eyes were on the WSOW as the best Warzone players in the world battled it out for a massive prize pool. The Solo Yolo competition was perhaps the most intense event of the competition as players went head to head in a Solo playlist where one player walked away with $100,000.
Warzone pro Rhys ‘Rated’ Price was cruising through the Solo Yolo event until an Airstrike killed him through a building, thus ruining his chances at claiming the 100k. When the Airstrike hit, Rated was comfortably tucked away in the corner of a building, but this wasn’t enough to save him.
Several players were shocked by the outcome as Rated looked to be perfectly protected from the Airstrike. Nonetheless, the Airstrike managed to kill him through the building, which many players found troubling.
To make matters worse, there were eighteen players left in the lobby and the circle was collapsing quickly. The Airstrike effectively erased any chance Rated may have had at winning the event.
Aydan quickly reacted on Twitter with: “Petition to get these things out of the game?” This isn’t the first time there have been issues with Airstrikes as players currently believe that the Airstrike warning is bugged in Season 5.
The replies to Aydan’s Tweet were full of sympathy for Rated with one player stating, “holy shit I would be FUMING” and another claiming that “I 100% would of broken my monitor if that was me.”
It remains to be seen if the devs will look to tweak the potency of Airstrikes through buildings, but with Warzone 2 coming up, it’s unlikely that any major changes would be on the way.
