Warzone’s final midseason update has finally arrived, bringing several changes to the battle royale, including a huge buff to the Scavenger Perk in Season 5 Reloaded.

Despite the Warzone Season 5 Reloaded update being the final chapter of the battle royale, the devs refused to take a passive approach. Instead, Raven Software delivered a juicy update that has brought quality of life changes and several buffs and nerfs to the game.

While the weapon buffs and nerfs are sure to alter the Season 5 Reloaded meta, the buff to the Scavenger Perk should not fly under the radar as the change could have a major impact on gameplay.

The Scavenger Perk is iconic within the Call of Duty franchise, appearing in a plethora of games dating back to 2009’s Modern Warfare 2. Despite its constant appearances, it never really took off as a popular Warzone Perk.

Scavenger allows Warzone players to resupply extra ammo and plates from dead players. Due to the stiff competition in the Perk 1 slot, Scavenger has often been overlooked, but all that can change thanks to a major buff following the Season 5 Reloaded update.

The buff will add $1,000 to Scavenger pouches picked up by players using the Perk. This is a major buff as Scavenger pouches will provide ammunition, plates, and $1,000 cash following the Warzone Season 5 Reloaded update.

The economic value gives players more of an incentive to run Scavenger as their first Perk. The devs understood that the Perk was “underutilized” and with these changes they “expect this to be a real contender for being a default Perk in the slot, as well as strengthening its role as a Ground Loot Perk for any Players motivated by elimination chasing.”

The Scavenger Perk can act as a game-changing addition for aggressive players who constantly look for kills. As eliminations pile up, you’ll be rewarded with the tools to keep the pace up in a cycle that rewards the player with ammunition, plates, and cash.

As players get to grips with Season 5 Reloaded, we’ll keep an eye out for Scavenger’s pick rate and monitor if this change could allow it to contend with Serpentine, Double Time, and Cold Blooded.
