Warzone Season 5 to add Loadout UI toggle after player backlash
Warzone Season 5 is set to bring a major quality of life change that players have been clamoring for, making their controversial Loadout UI change a toggle that players can turn off later in the season.
Raven Software have spent months working on quality of life improvements for Warzone, targeting things like Gas Masks, Armor Plates, and final circles.
In Season 4, the battle royale’s developers targeted Loadout Drops. Previously, when players would interact with a Loadout Drop, the selection would hover over the last class they selected. This changed though, with Raven choosing to change this option and make the cursor move to the top of the list every time.
This immediately infuriated players, who complained that they were too accustomed to the previous system, and would press select immediately, ending up with a loadout they didn’t want.
Despite Senior Creative Director Ted Timmins’ insistence that players would get used to it and eventually like it better, players have continued to complain, begging for the old system to return.
Thankfully, Raven have listened to the community and decided to address things. Arriving soon during Warzone Season 5, players will be able to go into their settings and choose how they want the Loadout Drop UI to work.
This means that you’ll be able to select whether it will open at the top of the list or on your last selected loadout. This is also good news for people who got used to the new system, as they won’t have to worry about it changing back again.
While this won’t revolutionize the game like weapon balancing or map changes, quality of life changes always make things easier for players and will be a welcome addition when it goes live later on this season. An official release date has yet to be confirmed.
The Loadout Drop UI isn’t the only toggle coming in Warzone Season 5, with a Gas Mask toggle also coming, along with changes to Vanguard’s 3x – 6x Variable Scopes.
