Warzone’s MW MP5 receives secret game-changing buff in Season 5
Modern Warfare’s MP5 has undergone a secret buff in Warzone Season 5, with it now boasting one of the lowest TTKs in the game.
Before Cold War’s integration with Warzone, Modern Warfare’s MP5 was king. Boasting a solid time to kill (TTK), good mobility, and low recoil, it was the go-to choice for close-range encounters. After a brief return to the meta in Season 4, Raven Software drastically nerfed it in Season 5.
Now, YouTuber TrueGameData has discovered that Modern Warfare’s MP5 has also received a significant stealth buff since the Season 5 update. The 10mm Auto 30-Round Mags now give it an incredibly fast TTK, making it one of the best close-range options in Warzone.
After one of his subscribers said that Modern Warfare’s MP5 had received a stealth buff, analytical Warzone YouTuber TrueGameData investigated. He discovered that this was true, and the 10mm Auto 30-Round Mags now make Modern Warfare’s MP5 the fastest-killing SMG in the game when hitting chest shots.
TrueGameData explained that the only thing holding the MW MP5 back was the 30 round mag. 30 rounds aren’t enough to take on a full squad of Trios or Quads, but he said that with the 10mm rounds, Modern Warfare’s MP5 is “probably the best SMG for Solos and Duos now.”
According to data from WZRanked.com, the 10mm Auto 30-Round Mags are so underused that they’re not even included in the top 25 most popular MP5 loadouts. So, it’s no surprise that this powerful change went under the radar.
Fastest killing Warzone MP5 loadout
- Barrel: Monolithic Integral Suppressor
- Stock: FTAC Collapsible
- Underbarrel: Operator Foregrip
- Ammunition: 30mm Auto 30-Round Mags
- Perk: Sleight of Hand
TrueGameData provided the best loadout to run with the 10mm Auto 30-Round Mags. He built it around mobility, making sure you can quickly get in enemy’s faces to take full advantage of this MP5’s fast TTK.

The 30mm Auto 30-Round Mags lower your mobility slightly, so the rest of these attachments are there to increase your speed. And as an extra bonus, the Sleight of Hand Perk makes up for the small magazine size.
