Warzone’s Volk ‘nerf’ has actually buffed powerful Assault Rifle
Warzone Season 3 Reloaded was supposed to have nerfed the powerful Volk Assault Rifle, but CoD expert Metaphor believes it’s actually even more effective than it was before the update.
As is the case with every major update, Warzone Season 3 Reloaded introduced a host of buffs and nerfs to the game’s roster of weapons in an effort to make Caldera and Rebirth more balanced.
Many of CoD Vanguard’s lesser-used weapons were given a healthy boost to make them more competitive. Meanwhile, guns like the CR-56 AMAX were given “brutal” nerfs to prevent them from dominating matches.
One of the few Vanguard weapons to be nerfed was the Volk, after it became increasingly popular in recent months. However, according to Warzone expert Metaphor has explained that the Assault Rifle turned SMG is actually better than ever, and the changes have buffed it rather than nerfing it.
In his May 28 video, Metaphor noted that even though the Volk’s strafe speed was nerfed in the Season 3 Reloaded patch, switching up the attachments lets you easily work around the change.
“A lot of you guys might be thinking ‘oh it got nerfed, not buffed because they lowered the strafe speed’ and while you would be correct, if you guys do remember correctly, the old build had the [M1941] Hand Stop Underbarrel which can easily be replaced by the M3 Ready Grip,” Metaphor explained.
The M3 Ready Grip lowers the weapon’s recoil control but offers a huge boost to strafe speed. In fact, by opting for this Underbarrel, Metaphor believes the Volk has “more strafe speed than ever before.”
Season 3 Reloaded also raised the Volk’s headshot multiplier, meaning it also dishes out even more damage alongside the faster strafe speed, so it’s actually more dominant now than before the update.
The YouTuber felt that the Volk is perfect for solos in the new Season, calling it his favorite weapon. You’ll have to contend with slightly less recoil control, but as a close-range SMG it’s right at home.
Since Raven’s changes haven’t had the desired effect, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see another tweak in the next balancing update. We’ll have to wait and see if the Volk remains a solid choice throughout the rest of the season.
